  1. Rodriguez is a bit scary to me. His fatball velo is unimpressive, and he doesn't really throw a breaking ball. I'm always skeptical of the long-term viability of fastball-changeup starters. Chris Paddack has a simiar profile from the right side, and he has similar issues - when hitters spit on the change he has to come at them with the fastball and it gets crushed. I'd take both in my rotation, but I'd want Rodriguez to be my second-best starter.
  2. Fun Sandy Alcantara fact: I once traded him straight up for Emilio Pagan in BORED. I am not a smart man.
  3. I think it's close. Bellinger's Steamer projection is still 247/346/511 coming off an abysmal season, and there are counting stats to be had in the Dodger lineup. What steamer doesn't know is how much the shoulder was responsible for his recent play, and whether it will get back to normal with more time.
  4. Trading an arm to "clear a rotation spot" doesn't exist in baseball.

  6. What narrative?
  7. That's two people today permabanned after their first post on the forum.
  8. Most of us were in high school when we started posting on the old forum. Now we’re approaching middle age. Crazy.
  9. They’re going to settle for Rodriguez instead of an actual ace, and it won’t go well for them.
  10. Pretty good deal for Heaney. And nice to see a legit contract so early into free agency.
  11. Holy s*** I forgot about Cano lol
  12. The Reds are a shameful organization. Traded Iglesias for cap relief a year ago, and this year they kick the offseason off by punting Wade Miley because he makes $10M. Poor Votto.
  13. Good for Posey. He's 35 before next season starts, his body is probably beaten up after a career catching. With 3 world series titles, a ticket to Cooperstown punched, and a boatload of career earnings, it's nice to see him go out while still performing at a high level.
  14. Has to be a bit bittersweet for Acuna.
  15. I'm sorry Spanky, but I'm just not going to be impressed by a team running an OF of Duvall/Rosario/Soler and giving the ball to Tucker Davidson and Jesse Chavez in a WS clinching situation. I realize that they've had a very good second half.
  16. It's not a bad team, just underwhelming. I think post people would have had them ranked 9th or 10th of the playoff teams going into the WC games. Toronto is clearly better and they didn't make the playoffs.
  17. With Acuna and Soroka out the Braves feel like the 2006 Cardinals. Super underwhelming WS champion, if they do win.
  18. Get it done Shatkins
  19. It's not looking like we'll be accepting your resignation in the near future.
  20. I'm actually kind of intrigued about the idea of teams losing the DH after the SP is pulled. it incentivizes teams to find guys who can reliably go deep into games, and would basically eliminate the opener, which I see as a good thing. Complaining about Anderson's hook last night is just ridiculous though.
  21. Media has been all over the “starting pitching problem” this postseason. Last night’s game is an odd one to use as support for that point. Anderson through 76 pitches over 5 innings, didn’t look dominant at all, and the Braves won the game 2-0. Perfectly managed game IMO.

Tkachuk punches faces a couple times a year. Can you really put a price on that?

Still very tight. If Campbell keeps it up he's looking at 5+M. The team would basically have to be running with a bottom-6 all making the minimum.
