  1. The Reds are a pathetic organization and I hope their fans don't show up for this s***. In the last two offseasons they've traded Iglesias, Gray, Winker, and Suarez for almost nothing but salary relief.
  2. Vladdy and Freeman hitting B2B is silly. Imagine pitching to this lineup if they sign Freeman and not immediately s***ing your pants.
  3. I like it. Grant is going to be pist https://theathletic.com/3183373/2022/03/14/mlb-players-union-discussing-restoring-extra-inning-ghost-runner-rule/
  4. Also, this. Atlanta isn't TB. Keep your 32-year old future HoF team leader and franchise icon.
  5. If I squint I can see Pache turning into prime Pillar, Langeliers becoming a good starting C, and the two pitchers working out. But I can also see this being another JD to Toronto trade where Beane moves an elite player and has nothing to show for it a couple years later. Olson is a top-10 hitter and top-20 player in baseball, and I think there should have been at least one player with elite upside in the return.
  6. Return feels light to me. Not even a top-100 prospect in the package.
  7. Brad Miller is a nice fit if they don't make a big splash. Lefty bat who can spell Vlad at 1B a couple times a week, and play the odd game at 3B, 2B, and the corner OF.
  8. I’ve always thought that fans really overestimate how much most players actually care about winning. It might not even really register for a lot of guys, despite the lip service. Money, personal success, city being a good personal fit, friends on the team etc… are all things that might be more important, depending on the player.
  9. Out Garver (~3M) Donaldson (21M + 29M after 2022) Petty In Urshela (6.5M) Sanchez (~8M) Gray (10M + 12M team option) Peguero I don't think they're any worse than they were before, and they have better financial flexibility with Donaldson off the books. Maybe also freeing up money for Story?
  10. Kiner-Falefa seems like the kind of guy who goes to NY and hits 25 HR out of nowhere.
  11. Didn't Villar have a terrible run here where he was universally hated?
  12. Damn. Good on him for still being that active at that age though

Baseball is back, Toronto's #1 goalie injured, and their backup is getting clowned on by the worst team in the NHL. Tonight is a good night.
  15. No that's Freddie Freeman
  16. Full 162 starting April 7th
  17. I’m going to catch heat for this but I liked the runner on 2nd extra innings rule
  18. There’s only one min
  19. It's not even the QO over the entire term of the CBA. It's one season of the QO. Under the owner proposal, they just keep the QO and scrap the international draft. Under the player proposal they scrap the QO for one year, then bring it back if (but really when) they don't agree to an international draft by November. Absolute madness.
  20. So one of the MLB proposals was no international draft and the QO stays. They players rejected the MLB proposals and countered with this. MLB canceled more games. So we're to believe that one year of QO's caused negotiations to collapse? This s*** is unbelievable.
