  1. This deserves it's own thread.
  2. I like my walls more than I like this team.
  3. No doubt. This team has some serious concerns. A bit of luck would be welcome, but not expected.
  4. Being cautious is a good thing. Some people hang their hat on anything and when things don't work out it's the end of the world. At the end of the day it's just a game and I prefer to enjoy it for what it is. Winning would be nice but it's never the end of the world.
  5. Nothing wrong with some optimism even if it's highly unlikely to occur. This forum is a breeding ground for depression sometimes.
  6. What does that have to do with JJ? I get that dealing Syndergaard sucks, but he is gone, time to move on and not make similar mistakes.
  7. Quite possible. I'm just hoping someone steps up. We have several options, it would be nice to get lucky with one.
  8. Redmond may end up providing more value.
  9. Hutch will make everyone forget about the glass wonder that is JJ. Unfortunately for us we have another SP made of glass in Morrow and possibly another in McGowan if he somehow ends up in the rotation. I'm glad AA never QO JJ.
  10. If AA gets fired and then another team picks him up we might be in luck.
  11. Does Jeffress even warrant a spot? f*** him.
  12. No way they let him go with his salary on the hook. He is better off trying to get healthy and put a good season together, rather than thinking short term.
  13. Ken if he gives us 30 starts then this team probably ends up in the playoffs. I would be happy with 10 and some pen innings to be quite honest.
  14. I agree, but the potential upside is good and Rogers and Redmond can still get their chance if AA does indeed go with a 13 man pitching staff.
  15. I guess they just don't care. Probably just want the exposure and anything else is bonus.
  16. Even drunk I'm too f***ing old to stay up for it.
  17. I bet Happ ends up on the DL. No way AA let's him go with his salary on the hook. I'm hoping McGowan cracks the rotation and we can extract any and all value from him.
  18. All part of the hype machine.
  19. Lol, I needed a good laugh.
  20. No doubt this is a showcase. He has zero chance of cracking this rotation out of spring.
  21. Yeah I was just kidding Ken. This team has deficiencies, but this lineup could be a top 3 lineup in MLB this year if we get lucky with health. The rotation has some upside with Hutch and Morrow if one or both can step it up, but it's just too many question marks. This team was/is a couple moves from being legitimate, but at this point we are likely looking at this team as is.
  22. I'd say chance of 2 studs is probably around 5%. Most pitching prospects bust and if we're looking at both, then it's very unlikely. If just one, then chances go up quite a bit. My bet is one will likely bust and the other probably ends up being a mid rotation guy.
  23. Offer Janssen/Santos and Izturis and see if they bite. They desperately need a SS now that Iglesias is done. Who knows maybe they are desperate enough to give Izzy a look.
