Meh, I'm indifferent. If he comes anywhere close to last season, it just makes our bottom third so much stronger. At the end of the day I don't believe the order has that significant of an impact when looking at one particular player. Our offence could be devastating this season, don't fret over the little stuff.

In a nutshell. People are taking this way too far. The purpose of this was to gain exposure for the Jays, not fooling people into thinking Montreal could get a team in the foreseeable future.

Yup. Why hate on players unless they deserve it? With JPA, he ran his mouth off, twitter, etc. he gave people a reason to hate him. With a guy like Goins, all he ever did wrong was NOTHING. It's not his fault AA couldn't or didn't find a better option.

It's fine if we are talking about the difference between contending and not, or putting the finishing touch on a contender. That being said, I am just weary of such deals when the money could probably be more safely invested into positional players. Teams are handing these deals out to mid rotation guys and that is just risky business. The only time I don't have an issue with it is when you know your team is already f***ed like the Jays. Going all in was crazy, but if you are going to do it then spend spend spend, otherwise you just threw away your window and your future simultaneously.

Yup. Won't win you anything, but if he can pitch a bunch of innings with decent peripherals, every team can use that.
