  1. There are so many options to go through there. We tend to go a bit more risky in the 2nd and 3rd rounds but there is a lot of college arms that will be available.
  2. They like Lacy but overwhelming consensus is it's going to be Torkelson. The only way one of the top 3 guys slides is if Baltimore does something crazy.
  3. Why would any team with the number 1 pick publicly say something like that?
  4. BA's final mock. https://www.baseballamerica.com/rankings/mlb-mock-draft/#MLBDraft
  5. Interesting that he says he leans more toward pitching, I guess probably cause he was a pitcher.
  6. Kiley McDaniels latest mock draft. Pretty much anyone other than Veen or Meyer would be a little surprising. https://www.espn.com/mlb/insider/story/_/id/29288279/2020-mlb-mock-draft-30-kiley-mcdaniel-predicts-first-two-rounds
  7. Mayo and Callis mock draft. They'll have one more tomorrow afternoon. https://www.mlb.com/news/mock-draft-final-projections-for-2020-mlb-draft?t=mlb-pipeline-coverage
  8. Mike Murov seems very confident in whoever they pick tomorrow.
  9. It's hard to see a ton of players choosing $20K to play when they have options to go back to college or take the Juco route. With teams trying to save as much money as possible and furloughing operations staff it would be a bad look to sign a bunch of guys for $20K. Also have to consider Minor leagues are about to shrink down the number of teams so roster spots are going to be limited as well.
  10. Solid article, it will be really interesting to see which teams pick these guys up.
  11. An article on Nick Gonzales, although not likely to change anyone's opinions I can see a lot of Brian Roberts in him. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/29279565/2020-mlb-draft-how-nick-gonzales-showed-gaudy-stats-come-thin-air
  12. I digress it's not minimal effort but definitely not high effort. He looks a lot like Walker Buehler. BA MLBpipeline
  13. There were also questions on why Hancock missed a few starts in 2019, McDaniel said that info would be available last week so depending on what that was he could be slipping. It could also just be about the analytics too, maybe makeup or interview impressions.
  14. I don't think it's any kind of smokescreen, in fact in the last three years the information available through mock drafts and rumors have been proven to be accurate. There's not that many of names being connected to us it's the same names over and over and we're hearing Nick Gonzalez less and less. Do you really need to be projectable if you have 70+ grade stuff now? And Meyers body is athletic with more room to add strength and he has a solid delivery with minimal effort.
  15. Latest BA Mock, I think there will be a final one on draft day.
  16. Has Todd posted on any notables he likes in this draft?
  17. Feels like they can still get to 82 games and prorated salary, it's not that much more than what's on the table. At this point I don't even care, I just want to watch some games.
  18. Funny I was reading Keith Law's chat and he mentioned if Meyer was 3 inches taller he would be in talks as 1-1. The more I see of Meyer the more I like him.
  19. What a dream scenario would that be if Austin Martin fell to us! I'm in the same thinking, Veen would be great but not going to be disappointed with the above college guys. I think I would be disappointed with a Demeters pick though.
  20. Not about baseball but glad to see the NBA was able to figure it out with a reasonable plan and Adam Silver willingness to pull the plug if more issues arise. I'm sure a similar agreement can be reached with the MLB playing in Florida.
  21. I don't read MLBpipeline a lot but they've been doing some pieces on scouts with some notables for us. Matt Bishoff is a guy I have been following since we picked up Bichette, he's lead a ton of our best signings out of Florida. I like hearing Veen connected with us cause it probably means that Bishoff likes him a lot. Gives a bit of insight to what these guys prioritize and value when setting up their boards. https://www.mlb.com/news/blue-jays-scout-on-bo-bichette - Matt Bishoff https://www.mlb.com/news/blue-jays-scout-andrew-tinnish - Andrew Tinnish https://www.mlb.com/news/blue-jays-scout-jamie-lehman - Jamie Lehman Also Jonathan Mayo did his latest mock. https://www.mlb.com/news/mlb-mock-draft-june-3
  22. To be fair Groshans was connected to us predraft. That is usually why I want to hear what Keith Law says about us in his mock drafts his info has proven accurate for several years now. Even the mock he just posted falls a lot in line with the quotes that I've heard from Shane Farrell about taking risks later in the draft. I think if Veen is on the board for us he is probably our guy and if he is gone Meyer is our guy.
  23. BA Mock draft 6.0 https://www.baseballamerica.com/rankings/mlb-mock-draft/
  24. Teams Biggest needs. https://www.espn.com/mlb/insider/story/_/id/29200739/biggest-needs-best-fits-2020-mlb-draft-guide-all-30-teams His reasoning on the 20th ranking https://www.espn.com/mlb/insider/story/_/id/28931721/kiley-mcdaniel-mlb-farm-system-rankings-all-30-teams
