    That's actually pretty interesting. Dodgers like their star power but yes have too many overpaid outfielders. That could work on both ends. You're presuming they don't want to keep Hanley Ramirez or that they move him or Reyes from short?

    LOL Imagine how different things might have gone if Ricky had remained a legit #2 caliber starter. Would have had so many implications for the team and AA. Prob would not have traded for Josh Johnson or Dickey. So yeah, FU Ricky

    Yes. In 2016 Ricky Romero will be pitching for the Angels or Dodgers AAA affiliate and will save us 7.5 million dollars. Thank you Ricky.

    All that said, I think we should keep both, but consider trading one mid season next year IF the kids are working out as hoped.

    Dickey looked really good this year for most of the season, is guaranteed to eat innings, and is set to make only 12M for 2015 and 2016 (club option with cheap buyout). I think lots of teams would be interested in that. Including many NL teams. Buerhle is no better in terms of.pitching performance, and costs 7M more for one season, then could be extended or qualified. As dependable as Buerhle is, Dickey is a better value.

    Did he meet his player option requirements??? *$15,000,000 $15M Player Option player option for 2015 if he 1) has 400 IP in 2013-14, including 190 IP in 2014, and 2) is not on the disabled list at the end of the 2014 season Edit: No he didn't. Not enough IP in 2013. So he's a free agent and can't be qualified. Good target for several teams.

    I blame the Dickey/Thole combo for making Kratz seemingly expendable. They should have jettisoned Thole last year IYAM. Even AA knows that Kratz is better than Thole. And Gibby sure as Hell does.

    Right It's not good enough to cover the raises for a team that will be the same but a year older Money to SP, BP, 2B and LF might be needed to actually make the team substantially better. Now AA has some salary to shed as well which will help but to really make the team better he needs to add.

    Agree on all counts I presume that AA would prefer a MIF to a 3B, and would rather trade for a younger guy than hire an older declining one

    Yeah I had no problem with it at the time, I'll be honest. It just didn't work out very well at all.

    Yeah. A lot of them just keep getting 1 year deals over and over. As said above, that's probably all Izturis ever should have gotten.
