  1. Goddammit My right thumb is still sore from refreshing Twitter last night!!! I thought I could give it the day off but nooooo
  2. I thought he only had 2 years of control left but I guess he has 2 plus an option and the contract is reasonable. OK more than fine.
  3. I wanted Darvish Would be thrilled with Castillo Would be fine with Sonny G
  4. All good until the playoffs then you're facing a Cole, Sherzer, Strasburg, deGrom, Bieber, Snell, Buehler, Kershaw, etc. almost every game. It's awfully nice to have a heavy 1-2 punch at the top of the rotation in the post season so you have a chance to win a low scoring game...
  5. Run support For shits and giggles I looked up Jacob deGrom. 70 wins over 7 seasons of elite pitching. How sad is that.
  6. Imagine if Donaldson and Sanchez hadn't killed their trade value
  7. Exactly. At least he can play a passable CF.
  8. Guess what? No matter where they play everyone our bench is going to be very good now
  9. Yeah you can't stop now Alpha Dog Atkins on the hunt
  10. I'd bet a large Tim's that Gurriel would play better at 3B than Vlad in 2021 (not that I think it's necessarily the best solution but yeah...)
  11. So yeah now it's a situation LOL
  12. MLB Network peeps think Brantley will mostly DH
  13. Yeah I think more likely a trade but...
  14. Unlike last tiime we went hard we haven't lost ANY of the great farm system
  15. Is there any chance they're actually thinking of moving Gurriel back to the infield??
  16. I'm thinking at least two more And pull off one trade
  17. FWIW a handful of recent successful closers and number of seasons with 70+ appearances Chapman 0 Jansen 1 Hader 0 Osuna 1 (yeah Gibby!) Hand 2 Kimbrel 0 Diaz 1 Hendriks 2 Even Mariano Rivera only did it 3 times
  18. Please Charlie only use him 70 times if he's really really good Thank you, Ross ALPHA MF Atkins
  19. TSN covers baseball?? I thought they only covered hockey and the Raptors
  20. It doesn't matter how the WAR is accumulated I suppose But projecting over the next 6 years... I prefer a contact hitter with on base skills plus power who is a good overall player rather than a guy who derives most of his value with either just speed or just power. Springer is very well rounded.
  21. Except Josh Hamilton was a one dimensional player (power with high strikeouts and bad defense) and an addict, going to Los Angeles with 125 million dollars to spend on bad habits There was always a massive risk involved there
  22. Keeping someone capable of playing passable CF (Ie Grichuk) isn't a bad thing anyway in case of injury to early 30s Springer or so he can have an occasional day off
  23. I am hoping that it's at least a bit front loaded so we can more easily afoord the young guys as they get raises I know that doesn't help with the luxury tax but no way the Jays ever go that high anyway
