    Andy Martino of SNY is in MLB network Tidbits: Mets have been working on this trade for months They won't go over the luxury tax and are already up to about 190M in payroll. Getting Springer is now less likely. They'd have to trade salary away or back load a contract. Springer was.offered 5 years 115M by the Jays Mets aren't looking for any more starting pitching so not in on Paxton or Bauer Not sure how accurate rhat all is but he seemed to have some inside scoop

    One full terrible season (to be fair I think you can forgive a first bad season when changing continemts and leagues without panicking) 4/10THS of a very good season Hard to project going forward But so is Odorizzi.

    MLBTR Free agent righty Jake Odorizzi appears to be in position to land a three-year deal, an executive tells Rosenthal. The expectation from that industry source is that the veteran starter could secure a guarantee in the realm of $36MM to $42MM — just where MLBTR predicted he’d land. There’s still no clarity as to Odorizzi’s slate of suitors, but it stands to reason he’ll have fairly widespread appeal given that Kevin Gausman and Marcus Stroman each accepted qualifying offers, removing two primary targets from the market. Sugano or Odorizzi?

    I don't like the thought of trading Gurriel for Lindor unless we're getting Springer. That would be such a massive upgrade at multiple positions if they pulled both off, with an even longer lineup and better defense all around the diamond. Otherwise I'd rather spend the money on pitching and maybe get Lindor at the trade deadline or wait until next off season to sign him or Correa or Story as free agents
