    Lmao! I hope Boras can't get anything over 5/80 now. I don't have anything against the players selecting Boras as the agent, but I'd sure love to see one of these ridiculous moves by him spectacularly backfire once in a while.

    Now that the O's seem to be stuck on the relief side of things (let's face it, considering Rodney at 10M / year is definitely stuck), I wonder if we could pry away Schoop?

    I don't think anyone would disagree that Sanchez has the better stuff, and if everything goes right will have the far better career. He's also a much higher risk to bust. Stroman will probably be a #3 starter (maybe #2 if he's lucky), but he's reasonably likely imo to reach that projection. If we had a poll on who had the higher upside, there's no doubt that Sanchez would be above Stroman.

    If either of Stroman or Sanchez puts up 26 WAR in 9 years as a starter, I doubt anyone here would complain. Either one of them having that kind of career would be big win for us.

    5 days was probably a bit excessive, but 24 hours would have perhaps been appropriate. I like having some of the humor etc, but threads continually being hijacked by people with their little pissing matches (or who's only purpose is to tick people off rather than actually support a position or contribute to the community) makes people wade through piles of crap they aren't here for. There's definitely a lot of people who should have gotten a time out before NJH did imo. Still, directing it at a mod (even partially in joking) wasn't the brightest thing in the world.

    I think both sides of the argument are equally valid. The fact that we have two guys of their caliber who are so different is awesome! It's too bad we can't make it a 3 way race with Syndergaard.

    What would you say if the price was Sanchez? We have no idea what other teams are offering that we'd have to beat. I definitely want one of them too, but let's not complain yet.

    Honestly? Quite a bit, but I'd like to expand it to include Michael Saunders as well.

    I'd definitely rather pay that for a proven guy than close to that (when posting fee is factored in) for a guy who's ceiling might be Hamels if everything goes right.

    Almost certainly not, but if THAT didn't fix the rotation nothing will...

    Even if he did trade them, it would be smarter for him to eat a bunch of salary and get a BIG return than to expect another team to eat it all for a minimal one.

    I think they'd need more for Scherzer too, and with 1 year left for him I'm not sure I'd want to give up even Sanchez to be honest. I think you can rule out Price too (they're asking for even more than Shark and Sale). Lee, Hamels, or Chacin could be interesting.

    Then as much as I love Butler's bat (especially when his bad defense doesn't come into play), I don't think you can even think about that deal (unless you're the one getting Niese and Ogando of course)

    I agree that Ackley would be an excellent option, but it seems from reports that Seattle would rather keep him. I'd still be thrilled to get the "consolation prize" of Franklin though

    That would be creatively interesting, but it wouldn't work since they'd have no ability to pull him back after he was posted (ie, literally every team would have to be in on the ploy). They'd have no ability to make that demand otherwise.

    I'm pretty sure I saw an article on Loewen the other day that said he signed with an NL club or something, but I can't find it now. It wasn't MLBTR.

    Especially with the prices relievers are getting on the open market right now. Someone will need a good one to finish off their pen and be near their payroll ceiling.
