  1. I love how they've brought in Sanchez and Stroman to get them a feel for the big crowds and feel of a major league game. That should pay huge dividends when they do come up.
  2. The Jays should consider taking one or two series during the year that are usually poorly attended and move those games to Montreal. Improve attendance a bit and get more people in Montreal excited about the Jays.
  3. Usually when Lind goes opposite field, it's a fly ball or line drive I believe. I wasn't paying attention today, but generally teams shift on the infield and play straight up in the outfield against him.
  4. I didn't see this posted anywhere (although I might have missed it). It's the Star's annual interview with AA, and for once it's actually quite well done imo. People might not like some of what AA says though. http://www.thestar.com/sports/bluejays/2014/03/28/blue_jays_preview_q_a_with_alex_anthopoulos.html
  5. Sounds like you may have enjoyed something on the plane too! Seriously though, hope you guys have a great time! Should be a ton of fun!
  6. I think the BC Place renovations make baseball impossible in it now without a massive amount of work (probably easier to build a new stadium). It really is an ideal type market though.
  7. It's interesting that we haven't heard a peep from Boras recently. You have to think he has a deal lined up with someone.
  8. How cool would it be if the team wore the fake chops during McGowan's season opening start?
  9. I think the bigger problem is that wherever they go would probably need a new stadium, and those aren't easy to get.

  11. Any time I see this I'm worried the next line is going to say that Lawrie pulled something lol. No one runs like a bat out of hell quite like he does.
  12. In other news, Seattle currently experiencing a shortage of slide rules, abacuses, and ouija boards.
  13. Chung looks fantastic behind the plate. Very quiet, great target, great framing.
  14. Longo's is a little different. Most teams aren't locking them up until age 37, but rather getting cost certainty and one or two years of FA.
  15. Some of these runs the Raptors go on are just ridiculous. If they can play a full game of defense in the playoffs (and guys are healthy) they could be extremely dangerous.
  16. A silver lining!
  17. It seems to disagree with Brooks Baseball (whom they recommend as an outside source due to their pitchfx accuracy). I wonder which is correct? Brooks has incredible breakdowns for all the data, which is very cool!
  18. Lowry looks like he's hurting pretty bad. I hope they don't make it worse before the playoffs.
  19. This is ugly
  20. He didn't throw very many changeups to really do much with the data (~40 or something according to Brooks). As for the fastball, he dramatically increased the usage of his sinker last year, which may have more to do with the swing rate.
  21. Maybe. It seems to be the trend right now among a lot of teams though. They'd rather get cost certainty and have the odd case like Romero (which is basically an outlier). Hard to argue with it either way.
  22. I want Izzy gone too, but if we're being honest and he was on another team last year, he'd probably be one of the guys all of us would be targeting to take over 2nd base...
  23. Romero wasn't a bad signing at the time. No one could have predicted he'd get the yips. Anyhow, shooting for the fences sometimes works, but it also sometimes produces Ryan Howards.
