Why not take 2 SP slots and 1 RP slot and convert them to P slots? That would give 3 SP and 3 RP dedicated slots with the rest being flexible. It deals with the opener nonsense while still maintaining some sort of traditional balance. I don't really see the need to add additional slots. I wouldn't be opposed to combining saves and holds and adding another category though. Maybe adding something like innings pitched.
And Kikuchi wasn't brought in any of those times. The plan was clearly a short leash, but I have to think Schneider had the freedom to choose when he thought it was appropriate.
I'd like to see a good replay of that to see if the ball actually did hit the dirt. I don't hate the move by the ump, but I'm not sure the playoffs are the time to break it out.
I kinda feel like both teams are going to have scrub position players pitching the 9th inning, and the Jays possibly more. Almost enough run differential to get there.
I miss playing DFS since Ford killed it here in Ontario. I did really well with it, but was never reckless. It actually made it more enjoyable for me to watch the games, whether I won or not. I just don't find the current options at all appealing.
