This is my feeling too. Estrada should be an upgrade over Happ at lesser cost (assuming Happ is traded, which I get a sense he will be), and I think we'll see a big improvement in Smoak getting out of Seattle (not to the level of Lind with the bat, but he also shouldn't need to be platooned either).
When you look at the players who are on the way out (aside from the guys they indicated they'd like to bring back in Melky or relievers), you get Lind, Rasmus, possibly Happ. All players who have had questionable clubhouse makeup. Players seem to get a kick out of Lind, but I don't get a sense that he fits in overly well. Rasmus much less so. Happ made quite a big fuss out of not starting initially, etc. I think this might be more about the clubhouse than anything else.
As long as they DO address some things like 2nd base, I really don't have a problem with these moves. They have to follow this up properly though.
