  1. They're just using the votes to sort guys out. They'll take the top bunch and decide as a group several people who they feel are best suited.
  2. Imo this thread is perfectly appropriate for that discussion.
  3. Should probably only count votes from people with at least 50 or 100 posts, just to make sure there was no ballot stuffing... not that anyone would do that I'm sure. It sure will be nice to have the forum readable again, whoever is chosen.
  4. I don't think the odd bit of venting from time to time is necessarily bad, but people need to limit it to one or two posts and be done with it. There's no need to fill dozens of pages and threads with it every night, or rage about something for weeks after it happened.
  5. I agree with BTS and KingKat. I think both would be excellent. All we really need though is someone to get rid of the Doggs and guys who get off on creating random nonsense arguments. (And the spammers promoting websites). 90% of the people are here for the right reasons, and would probably post more without the crap. Willingness to ban King, randomly, for no reason, from time to time should also be a requirement.
  6. And please restore the BBDL thread (or let us know if it can't be)
  7. I did early this afternoon. Actually make that before dinner. Lots of stuff to answer today.
  8. He's kind of an interesting arm. Upper 90's, ground ball and strike out guy (which is a great combo for Coors). I have him in all 3 leagues. I'm hoping he makes me think hard about protecting him.
  9. A new high end (and great looking) blog / website dealing with fantasy sports and analytics could do very well, but I think the Howies are better off sticking with the current blog for now until they take a few university level courses on statistics. That's just my opinion, but if they're looking at doing it as something really serious, they need to make sure the processes they use are mathematically valid and have the ability to back it up. Doing the blog now gives them the writing and research experience to really benefit them later, and won't risk the integrity of a new high end site if they screw up.
  10. We really don't need another outfielder. Bautista/Pillar/Revere/Pennington should be fine for now. We can call Pompey back up in September when the rosters expand.
  11. Probably Baltimore, but it helps us either way.
  12. Lol, Schoop with an hilariously bad slide at the plate. Turned an easy run into an out.
  13. I really don't understand why no team would claim him. I know he's expensive, but there's some teams (like the Yankees) that could desperately use him.
  14. The wikipedia history for him is hilarious. There's a war between several people editing the page.
  15. No idea. I'd think there's probably something in there that will end up requiring surgery. This doesn't really have the feeling of injury prone to me.
  16. He apparently is. Similar to last time, his shoulder isn't really healing. I think Sportsnet had an article about it this morning.
  17. It looked like he went out to ask why he wasn't asking for help on the check swing to me. Who knows what he actually said though. Ump really should have given some rope there.
  18. He's good defensively, and over the last two years has hit lefties decently (albeit a rather sss). I have to assume the plan is to platoon him and Goins at 2nd. Pennington also presumably gives us some speed off the bench. I'm not hugely in favor of picking him up, but I don't think it's as bad as people seem to think.
  19. Generally taxing the bullpen pays off in some form, but not necessarily immediately.
  20. This could probably get people in trouble as well. I suggest we delete the DDL thread to make sure (j/k) This is a perfect example of why we try to insist that people post trades in the proboards thread though, just in case, so that we still have a record of them.
  21. Boy, this is going to be a really interesting call. It has to either be a home run or an out.
  22. Martin grabbing at the back of his leg, which has been bothering him for a while. I kind of wonder if after these two series with the Yankees, we shouldn't just DL him and get it fixed for (hopefully) the playoffs.
  23. What did O2 do this time? I never thought I'd see JFaS get pissed off and start spamming.
  24. Sportsnet will broadcast them, so the cast likely wouldn't change (maybe some minor additions to join Zaun and Campbell?). Sportsnet has Canadian distribution rights which include the all-star game, home run derby, and all postseason games.
