That's kind of awesome! We need more creativity like that. Makes things more interesting. I can't imagine most pitchers would be able to maintain velocity and location doing that too often though.
It looks like Manoah came out throwing 95 today, but the velocity had dropped to 91 by the 3rd inning. Nice to see the early velocity, but I feel like there's something bigger wrong with him. I don't think it's a simple injury.
That call at 3rd with Chapman is as crazy as the catcher interference we had a few days ago. In both plays the batter / runner were out before the infraction occurred.
You have to think Vogelbach will be one. He really doesn't fill any role on the roster atm (except being liked). Mitch White would make sense as the other. I guess they could option Nate or Cabrera.
Interesting. I still don't understand why Mizuhara had access to that much money though, or why whoever does Ohtani's books didn't notice it back in 2021 or 2022. That does seem pretty conclusive as to Ohtani being a true victim though.
Boras misread the market. It's not the first time it's happened either, but he seemed to learn from last time and got the players short-term face saving deals this time rather than sitting them out until the all-star break.
I wonder how the injuries correlate to off-season throwing? It seems like some of these guys take a few weeks off then start throwing again right away and do so all offseason. Maybe they're just not giving their arms enough time to rest and heal. David Wells used to just show up to ST and was like well, maybe I'd better actually pick up a baseball again.
