    Lol, I just got a message when going to mlbtr that said the servers were at capacity. Never seen that before, even at trade deadlines.

    I suspect the Bruce part was legit, but it's entirely possible Rosenthal had someone else suggest to him the Saunders part and it made enough sense to assume was true. Heck, it might be true. I'm just not willing to assume blindly that it is, and that the team would lie to Saunders about it. Hell, for all we know maybe it was someone like Smoak that was going to LA (which would make some sense if Pujols is having health issues).

    Maybe it WAS just rumours, at least on the Saunders part. It's not like journalists never make s*** up.

    Given his age, I don't think 5/100 is really a lowball offer. If he was 30, then sure.

    LMAO. There's no way in hell any team gives him that at age 36.

    I wonder what Coghlan would cost? He'd be a nice fit in LF, and can fill in at most positions in a pinch. Seems he's probably out of a starting spot this year with the Cubs, and is a free agent after the season.

    I'm a little nervous about the rotation. It could be anywhere between incredible and a horror show. Hopefully luck is with us for once.

    It would be pretty two-faced for him to rip on AA for trading prospects for good players in a playoff push, then turn around and acquire a player who might have negative value for some. With that said, I think if we were willing to give up a decent prospect the deal would already be done. We wouldn't be trying to do a 3-way.

    Well, that could be the link we're missing. Maybe Jacoby has seen a flaw he thinks he can fix.

    For the price of Bruce, I'd rather see about signing Austin Jackson for 2 or 3 years if they think Saunders knee is bad and Pompey isn't ready.

    Clearly there's teams that would offer SOMETHING for him, so bringing him back makes sense regardless.

    There's enough fire to this that there must be something to it. It'll be interesting to hear the explanation on why Bruce is worth it in their opinion. Now if we were also getting Cingrani or someone like that, it would make a (little) more sense.

    The problem isn't the home runs, the problem is almost every other stat.

    Interesting. Canucks needed help up the middle, and both players seem fairly comparable.

    I'm not sure so much about fat necessarily as opposed to bulk that doesn't affect their pitching motion. I agree that it seems the skinny guys either tend to get injured more, or lose velocity faster.

    I think it depends who you're facing (although certainly you'd be happy to chase any starter by run scoring). Go against a true ace, and running up the pitch count isn't a bad strategy.

    When I tore up my shoulder, I would get significant amounts of pain from simple things like pushing open a door or raising my arm above my head, but no pain from most other motions. That lasted for about 2 years or so after injury.
