  1. I really don't have a boner for crappy pitchers (or injured ones for that matter), I just look more towards upside, and am therefore willing to take the chance on injury risk guys when I think the potential reward is sufficient. Since they tend to drop further than I feel they should, I seem to end up with them. Last year my problem was that they ALL went down at the same damn time. I expected injuries, just spread out at least a little bit. With the plan of going young in this draft, nabbing a few good arms made sense in that some of the bats I wanted could be pushed off a few rounds.
  2. Yeah, Harvey is 26 lol. I may have gone a little overboard.
  3. Can I start a poll asking to make it one?
  4. Equal odds at either imo. However the positional flexibility could be huge, and the potential for big fantasy numbers is certainly there.
  5. I keep going back and forth on who to take. I'm gonna select someone who just turned 23, has future 25 home run + 15 stolen base potential, and should qualify at 4 positions next year. Sounds great until you realize it's Javier Baez, doesn't it?
  6. Damn it, I'm not going to get that song out of my head the rest of the night.
  7. That 35 pick wait is gonna suck for you.
  8. You shouldn't regret Buxton. He's gonna be a monster.
  9. He may or may not have made it to you. We'll never know now.
  10. I just hope he can make enough contact to hit his bombs lol. At least his walk rate is decent, so OBP shouldn't hurt too much.
  11. I'm going to roll the dice, pretend K's don't exist for a few minutes, and select Joey Gallo. J4L is on the clock.
  12. I was really surprised he slid this far.
  13. By that time, your pick will have retired.
  14. I'm surprised people are so high on Beltre, given he's almost 37.
  15. Both pitchers are ridiculously similar, and I don't think you can go wrong with either. Gray's off-speed pitches are better, but his fastball results aren't great. In particular, he walks more than he K's with the fastball. Stroman's results (while fairly sss), are much more consistent across all the pitches except his changeup, which he doesn't use much. That gives him more ways to get guys out, and I would think should result in better performances in the long run.
  16. He was the pitcher I was strongly debating instead of Stroman, and the one I almost selected my last pick rather than a bat. In the end, I like Stroman's stuff a little better which is why I took Stroman. As for taking the bat, I didn't like the idea of only having 2 bats heading into rounds 6 and 7 where things would really start thinning out. I also have Manaea on the farm (and Appel, although I know a lot don't like him), and both should be up sooner rather than later. I just couldn't justify taking that 3rd starting pitcher there. I hope I don't regret it.
  17. I was unbelievably close to taking a pitcher (from another team) instead of Myers too. I even had it typed out, but changed my mind last minute. We'll see if I regret it or not.
  18. There's some guys I didn't expect to still be here that are extremely tempting, but I'm gonna be true to myself and reaffirm my faith in Wil Myers. BB is on the clock.
  19. Thanks, I see it is now.
  20. It would be a big help if we could get the spreadsheet updated
  21. There's still at least 2 who should be worth owning.
  22. That's what happens when you forget to include error handling in your programming.
