  1. We might put out some of the weirdest playoff lineups ever if we see Martin at 2B. It would go right up there with two position players pitching in a playoff game last year.
  2. Out of curiosity, I wonder what Jones yelled back at the fans? It may have been just as bad, if not worse, than what they yelled for all we know.
  3. I think I read something about Uber testing some self driving cars. Taxi drivers will REALLY love that.
  4. Plenty of sober people do idiotic things while driving too, such as chasing Pokemon, playing on their phone, etc. I'd be a little hesitant to trust the self driving car prototypes at highway speeds just yet, but at slower speeds in the city I think it would be fantastic.
  5. Self driving cars can't get here soon enough.
  6. Maybe do this, but if it's ruled inconclusive then the team gets to keep their challenge.
  7. That's really too bad. The other fans in that area need to get on them for that, make them keep it to non-racial insults...
  8. Was there ever any confirmation on that, or was it just Jones claiming it happened? I'm pretty sure he's been making a stink about that happening in basically every park he goes to, but maybe I have the wrong guy.
  9. What if he hit him with it? I don't see how you could NOT charge him with assault then. It seems somewhat reasonable that throwing at, but missing, could be considered attempted assault. There'd be no other target or reason for him to throw the can, really. Anyhow, I'm fine with him being made an example of, even if the punishment seems a bit harsh. That kind of nonsense should never happen, period. It's dangerous. The lifetime ban is definitely warranted imo. The only argument should be the necessity of an attempted assault charge.
  10. They could have some kind of facial recognition software or something (no idea if they do). I would imagine it would be more along the lines of, if you get caught attending, you'd be hit with trespassing along with various fines.
  11. Ortiz is having an unreal season.
  12. In a normal series I'd agree. With the off days in a playoff series, I don't think it's a major issue. They've also had a lot of rest leading up to today. The one real advantage could be letting our batters get an extra look at them. That could pay off later.
  13. If Darvish doesn't go 5+ innings tomorrow, it probably means he gave up a bunch of runs. How much their pen worked today would be the least of their concerns if that were the case. The only place where it realistically could come into play is a Darvish injury or extra innings.
  14. Probably doesn't matter in the playoffs. There's plenty of off days / travel days.
  15. If this game gets too out of hand, we could see the Rangers try to incite something by throwing at Bautista. Hopefully that won't happen. I don't think we'll start something.
  16. Yeah, seeing the replays I don't think he did lose the ball in the sun/shade. I think he just misjudged where the wall was and pulled up early.
  17. You want him to send you a Spanky's BJ's jersey?
  18. It may not be as good as Baltimore's, but it still has a lot of very high quality arms.
  19. It must be the man in white (who's on the mound).
  20. I'm not sure what I did to piss you off, as nothing I said was a personal attack (you're the only one who has done that). I think at this point it's clear you didn't make this thread to discuss anything, as you attack every attempt people have made so far. Feel free to whine to your heart's content, while the rest of us actually enjoy the game.
  21. I think you're the only person who didn't think it was a tie. It most certainly was not conclusive, nor was the explanation that they 'thought he was out'. The official ruling was no conclusive evidence to overturn the call on the field. The idea is to remove egregious mistakes by the umps, not to be used to challenge the kinds of plays we usually see it on at 1st and 2nd.
  22. MLB (at least for the playoffs) needs to have a high speed camera or two set up to see plays at the bases.
  23. Probably safe, but it may be tie goes to the original call.
