  1. I'll be getting nervous if spring training rolls around and we're still basically short 2 outfielders and a reliever or two. Until then, not much point in worrying. There's still a lot of players on the market.
  2. Here's mine if someone decides to add the links to the spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Bl-aUmLkyN6KwMocyAh5a4dZk5rXOn5PErsPJ8OyGuE/edit?usp=sharing
  3. Would anyone be opposed to us adding trade block links to the BORED spreadsheet?
  4. One too many plastic surgeries?
  5. Barney and Upton as backup players is great. Combine that with positional flexibility from Pearce too.
  6. To BTS: R3 Waiver To Abomination: Adam Frazier + R5 Waiver (FS)
  7. They could be the same, I think it really depends on Saunders knee. I think Saunders has more upside and Bruce has more guarantee on consistency. Yeah, the Mets screwed up on exercising his option. They're certainly not the only team to misread the offseason though.
  8. Full season 2016 Saunders wasn't even terrible. He still put up 1.4 WAR even with that horrible 2nd half, and a 117 wRC+. He can also hit lefties, which is nice. The big question is really how his knee is, and if that was the 2nd half problem.
  9. They seem pretty similar. As a destination for him to go to (and it sounds like he was going SOMEWHERE), it's a pretty good spot. Could have been a little better, but could have been much, much worse.
  10. On the chopping block for me: Rua, Melvin Upton, Gennett, Peter O'Brien. There will be more, but not sure who yet.
  11. I wonder if the A's will try to cash in on Doolittle now?
  12. I'm very happy to see Smyly go to Seattle (fantasy sports reasons), but imo if they Rays are going to trade someone like him they should be looking for less volume and more quality.
  13. If you consider him a catcher, I think it would be hard not to take Schwarber top 100.
  14. I'm gonna take a wild stab and say Mallex is going to the Phillies.
  15. IMO it's not even close to veto worthy. It's just an odd gamble to take.
  16. I don't know why he didn't simply wait until the tail end of the draft. No way were you protecting him through the cutdown. Hell, using the 2nd round pick on Ortiz in the draft, while a reach, would at least have saved him a keeper slot.
  17. The WBC isn't really for us, it's to increase global baseball interest in other countries that don't have a higher end league.
  18. There's 3 or 4 teams with less projected from both their corner outfielders than us, and more with poor projections in one of the two spots. There's plenty of need, and no one bit. There's more to it, has to be.
  19. To be fair, apparently no one else wanted to pay Smith 7M either. There's probably something in the underlying medicals, etc that we don't know about.
  20. I forgot about Hammel, he could be passable too. As for Moss, I think the projections are for him playing 1B where the defensive metrics don't like him. In the outfield he's average to maybe slightly above average. Changing that, and the projected WAR is probably about the same as Hammel.
  21. True, but there's guys available like Moss who could be signed at a likely discount for the outfield (not to mention Bautista still) and produce adequately. Outside of Tyson Ross (who's a bit of an injury risk himself), the other remaining starting pitchers are either puke inducing or made of expensive glass.
  22. We really, REALLY need to keep Stroman and Sanchez. Beyond this coming year, the starting pitching is a problem. Guys on the farm probably won't be ready yet, and if we move Stroman or Sanchez, we'd have to replace 3 starting pitchers through trade or free agency. That's not a good place to be in.
  23. His parents are both Canadian.
  24. Can we get this processed please?
  25. I'd probably do Bruce for Smoak straight up. You'd be getting Bruce for just under 9M this year, plus saving Smoak's 4M next year.
