Most likely. I probably should have been a fringe playoff team. I think my luck is running out though, at just the wrong time.
Still, no one can take away my 1st place regular season, luck or not!
I think you misunderstood what I was saying. I want to create my own database that I can have fun exploring, and want to know the best source of populating it.
Actually, you might just be able to use BS. I thought it wasn't recording all the pitches, but I think I misunderstood how their pitch id's are generated.
I wish it was easier to gather all the data ourselves for our own databases, which is something I want to play around with. The only way I know of is to get the pitchfx data from the MLB Gameday xml files, and they try to match it with the batted ball info for things like exit velocity from baseballsavant. Anyone know of a better way?
That's a fixed cost though, regardless of whether he plays for us or not. If we can upgrade Smoak for 1M, then that 1M is the only consideration, not what we would owe Smoak for not playing.
They really seem like they don't want to sign Pagan, but are keeping the possibility open. They keep mentioning things like wanting to keep the competition open, etc. The thing Lawrie would offer is the potential to cover infield and outfield positions in a super util role (I see no reason he couldn't handle LF capably, if he can resist the urge to run into Pillar or the walls while chasing flies). Barney works well as a defensive replacement / pinch runner who can cover SS as well. I'm not sure he'd excel in an expanded role in the event of a major injury.
I figured there was a strong chance either Miller or Fleury would be, and a decent chance Halak would go somewhere in a backup role.
Halak is killing it in the AHL.
Yeah, I'll be okay next year, but really tough the remainder of this one. I thought ONE of those guys would get traded / guy in front get traded at the deadline.
Yeah, I don't get that either. I held off a long time on Mantha, but at this point in the season there's not much point in keeping them down since they'll probably be mandatory promotions at the end of the year anyway.
Actually, I'd also suggest that signing Lawrie to a big league contract would probably bring in far more in additional ticket sales than what his salary would be, given he was popular here and people will remember the good Lawrie more than the current (useful but less good) version. He could be valuable to us from that alone.
A Jays pitcher other than Sanchez will win the Cy Young.
Sale will join Price on the TJS list, and the Red Sox will finish last in the division.
Tellez will be our starting 1B / DH by the trade deadline.
The Nats and Mets both fail to make the playoffs.
The Angels will trade Mike Trout.
Yeah, this is what I want to see. I know it would be a big change, but the thing that annoys me most when watching a game is seeing a pitching change every batter. I'd like to see a pitcher have to face 3 batters or the end of an inning before they can be removed (barring injury). Catchers that rack up frequent flier miles between home plate and the pitching mound bother me too.
None of those were 2018, sorry for the confusion. Basically for my team, P2F should have Bickford, Dinger should have my 6th round 2017 MiLB, JG34 should have my 5th round MiLB 2017, and AG should have JG34's 6th round 2017 MiLB.
There were a few during the waiver draft, not sure if they were updated or not. I didn't touch anything except the waiver list just to keep the draft running smoother. I left the MiLB side for an actual commish.
Bickford should be on P2F's team from the Salazar trade. Dinger should have my 6th round MiLB, JG34 should have my 5th round MiLB with his 6th coming my way, then AG should have that same 6th.
