  1. If I had to guess, I'd say probably in the 5 to 10 million range per city, depending on the additional facilities.
  2. Maybe we should make Bautista our hitting coach next year lol, Teoscar looks great right now.
  3. Sure, I'll have to see if I can reasonably protect him through the next two cutdowns though. By my count, I'm already at 22, and that's without promotions next year.
  4. Would someone be kind enough to drop a few guys like that in BORED?
  5. Lol, Goins just loves the bases loaded. If he could only bottle that approach and use it every at bat, he might be an actual MLB regular.
  6. http://bluejayhunter.com/2017/09/blue-jays-are-bringing-back-4pm-saturday-home-games-2018.html
  7. Sure they are. He's gonna have a handshake agreement with someone for a big, early career payday after a year or two.
  8. Isn't he able to negotiate with anyone who puts up the max bid? I don't think he has to pick one exclusively, does he?
  9. I'll take Dustin Brown, a hit King, and apparently back on the first line again JG34 is up!
  10. That was a really, really nasty pitch.
  11. I don't think we'd have a big advantage there. Having guys like Kawasaki raving about us could definitely have an impact though, as does the fact we'll almost certainly have room for him to play some in the outfield. The fact that Toronto is quite a multinational city should also help a lot. The fact we aren't on the west coast (which probably hurts endorsements and viewership of games in Japan) almost certainly hurts us.
  12. Some of their player updates aren't even for the right player. At least that one got the correct guy.
  13. I don't understand what the Pirates are doing. They're way out of the race, he has one bad start after being called up, and they immediately shift him to the pen? Talk about destroying his confidence. They should be running him out there the rest of the season to iron him out for next year.
  14. I think it's called running out of ideas to write about.
  15. Kluber has a lower xFIP in addition to the ERA, it's not like he's just having a lucky season. They both deserve it. It'll probably come down to the last 2 or 3 starts they have remaining.
  16. And in other news, Raul Mondesi (the one that played for us) was sentenced to 8 years in prison and $1.27 million for corruption while serving as his town's mayor. I guess that career $66 million he made just doesn't go as far anymore ...
  17. Renfroe sure had himself a day. 3 home runs, two of them against Ray.
  18. I took Erik Johnson. JG34 is up!
  19. This is the kind of game where if you're a pitcher in the pen, you come up with a small, temporary ache or pain somewhere lol.
  20. That's what I used last year I think.
  21. Didn't Seattle end up bidding against themselves on that deal though, by like 30 million or something?
  22. Outside of Darvish (and maybe Otani), next year doesn't have a whole lot in the Ace department. There ARE a lot of back end guys that are interesting though. Aside from Cozart, there isn't much at the SS/2B area either (and you'd be buying high big time on Cozart, who will probably regress back down towards a league average bat). Zobrist would be a guy I could see possibly being available, and would probably be a nice fit splitting time at 2B and LF. Joc Pederson is another guy who I could see possibly being available. The Dodgers will likely have Taylor, Puig, Bellinger out there next year, with Verdugo waiting in the wings.
  23. Yeah, although we really need to get through at least some of the prospect draft too before the season starts, as some of those early guys could be direct to NHL.
  24. Excellent. Have to think we paid higher for him to only have one guaranteed year though (not that I'm opposed to that).
  25. As I've said before, the biggest thing I notice is that Bautista is hitting a LOT more balls to center and opposite field this year. From watching his approach, I think it's intentional, and I think it's the reason for his reduced bat speed. Now maybe he's doing it because of bat speed loss, and feels it's the only thing left he can do, who knows. It also seems like he's not picking up breaking balls very well lately, which is interesting as well. I know it's not a popular opinion, but I can actually see him being back next year (certainly not at his option price though). Trade Morales, get Bautista for ~5M, and let him DH and occasionally fill in at 1st, 3rd, OF. I really feel like he will bounce back some.
