  1. Poor Morton and the Astros. This might be one of the unluckiest games I've seen in a long time. It probably should be 0-0 still.
  2. I think he just misplayed it.
  3. At least he caught it. Maybin just totally misplayed that fly by Bird.
  4. It's too bad in some ways that owners can't own multiple teams. If Rogers could own both the Jays and new Expos, there wouldn't need to be any issues with territory compensation or reduction in revenue from a second team in Canada.
  5. That short porch should never have been allowed. At least Boston compensates with a big ass wall.
  6. When the f*** did Morton start throwing 99?
  7. I found this (some NSFW): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVfnAZBOT5U
  8. It's interesting. I'd kind of like to see them do away with the ASG though (maybe host skills competitions like the home run derby after the season in other countries to promote the game). Also, reduce the preseason slightly and start in cities with good climates or domes for the first two weeks or so.
  9. Postseason can do funny things to players. Just look at what Judge has done.
  10. I kind of think you give him another year or two to sort out the catching issues before resorting to moving him.
  11. He can manage fan outrage by dressing up in a clown outfit and sitting in a dunk tank.
  12. They didn't need a hit to score the run though, there was only one out. If there were two out, it may have been slightly defensible.
  13. It was a terrible send that would have been criticized for days. The fact it worked out does not excuse bad decision making.
  14. What a horrible send, and what a horrible relay by the Yankees.
  15. You have to think that's it for Verlander, but given that this is the playoffs, who knows.
  16. I've been keeping my eye on various software options just in case something happens to this forum, but it would take a fair amount of work to set up correctly and be able to self-support itself, so I have no intention of trying to do it unless this goes out.
  17. The bat probably won't, but the defense might (especially with the injuries he's had to the legs in previous years).
  18. The Yankees almost certainly won't. It's strongly rumored that they want to get under the cap prior to blowing their wad in 2019.
  19. I have to think very little. No one claimed him off revocable waivers. Those two would be absolutely perfect fits for us though.
  20. He put up .250 .318 .354 in 2015, and .267 .305 .385 in the second half this year. The suggested line certainly isn't ridiculous, even if it is somewhat unlikely. (I'm only responding to this part, not making any comment about the rest of Olerud's post).
  21. Baseball has set the QO for next year at 17.4 million (less than expected).
  22. Gutsy pitch there. You really don't want to put the winning run at the plate. Congrats to the Cubs!
  23. A few million Cubbies fans just about had heart attacks.
