  1. A lot of them will probably be from cuts, which won't happen until the cutdown date.
  2. I wonder who the salary coming back would have been? Would we have eaten that ugly Chen contract?
  3. Based on other reports (them apparently asking for Bo AND Vlad earlier), it's also possible that they really don't like Bo or Alford. That might have had more to do with it than anything else.
  4. If we were that close on the package, I wonder if we will now push to sign Cain?
  5. That's how I kinda read it too, but the flexibility IS there that it should still be a possibility. They could have been after Ozuna or someone else, and then taken a few days for the other deals to shake out.
  6. I think the team is very clearly better for the next year or two by doing that. The Giants would make sense as a trading partner for Pillar. The Cubs might too as he'd be an upgrade over Almora probably, but they already have a bit of an outfield glut. Cleveland makes sense, but there's no way they'd do it for Salazar. Maybe to the Royals for someone like Jake Junis? Maybe to the Pirates for Nova? The Braves could be a good destination for Pearce. Pearce seems like the kind of guy Seattle would target for CF...
  7. He's clearly talking about Billy Hamilton.
  8. He'll have more value after the cutdown, but protecting him at the expense of someone else also has a cost.
  9. All about the home runs.
  10. I thought it was a first, but I may be confusing it with another. Or maybe it was that my second was basically a first.
  11. You shouldn’t have demanded such a high price back when there was interest!
  12. What's the best food related name not on the list?
  13. Might be able to get both for ~2M total. Not too painful if you end up having to cut both.
  14. Siegrist and Oh would be nice targets. Uehara and Krol could be interesting backup choices.
  15. I'm certainly willing to give him a mulligan last year, with all his family was going through. His mind just wasn't on baseball.
  16. Interesting. I guess the flip side is you could try Chrome on the phone. I haven't had any issues with Firefox on the desktop (which is what I use 95% of the time), but I use Chrome on the rare occasion I need to check on my phone.
  17. The site gets a little unresponsive at times. Try Firefox (at least for me I haven't had any 522 errors with it). Chrome/Edge may have tighter timeout settings or something.
  18. There's some pretty terrible calls in this NYK/LAL game today too.
  19. Oh, yeah for that it's fine.
  20. This seems like a really, really bad idea.
  21. He put up 2.9 WAR in 2016 and is projected for 2 next year. The cost per WAR isn't good, but it could be a lot worse. His salary decreasing for the last year and option year if desired is also very fortunate.
  22. Hell of a lot better than last year.
  23. Lol, FFS Demar!
  24. Hunter Strickland and Austin Slater maybe?
  25. I've been assuming in the $12M range, similar to last year, but it could be less. MLBTR has him at 2/16.
