  1. It might be nice to have the option for 2FA. Thank you for the dark mode!
  2. Santander at 5/100 seems pretty reasonable to me. I'd prefer 4 years, but at this point securing a big bat is more important imo than playing games and having someone else come in. It might also encourage someone like JDM to sign as DH.
  3. As frustrating as it's been, we're 18th in offseason FA spending this year. That means there's 12 teams that have spent less than we have. But yes, the front office definitely needs to have a fire lit under their asses. It feels like they're going down a list one at a time and losing out on lots of good options in the process.
  4. These injuries are absolutely killing me. Why can't it be the scrubs that go down?
  5. He'll probably add 20 home runs and 70 rbi out of the DH slot. Seems like a decent add for the price, especially if a team is looking for some power.
  6. Does this mean Spanky is no longer going to be encoded into the forum software?
  7. Kim is a better bat, better base runner, a better defender, and has a better track record. I love Clement, but they are not equal. Clement is absolutely ideal coming off the bench and spelling guys a few times a week. He'll rack up some serious value in that role.
  8. He's always been a weird guy. His results seem to outperform the metrics by a pretty good margin. He wasn't healthy in 2023 and suffered from pitching in Coors last year. If you stick him in front of a good defense, I wouldn't be at all shocked to see him put up an ERA in the low 3's (with an xFIP in the mid 4's).
  9. I think I could get on board with Santander, Kim, and Quantrill. It's not ideal, but there's actually some pretty good impact there. I feel like Quantrill's issue is actually pitch selection rather than stuff, and that's something Pete might be able to sort out.
  10. I wouldn't even lump Profar in that mix. 3 impact bats and one wildcard.
  11. Ownership is NOT our problem. They want to win and they've given us the payroll necessary to do it. There's a lot of teams in the league that would kill to have our ownership.
  12. Sign and/or trade for two big bats, a backend starter, a backup catcher, and another decent reliever or two. Obviously I'd prefer more, but that would make it successful imo.

  14. Yeah, but we did that last year and came away with panic purchases of Turner and KK.
  15. Eventually they're gonna get lucky. I could see Goldy being the one too.
  16. Yes, I think I'd absolutely take on that contract (given that it's 2 years left). He's an above average bat and an above average outfielder, and we need both of those things right now. Which would you rather do, pay 4 of 5 years for one of the two FA outfielders, the last 2 years of which they're likely declining, or 2 prime years of Bellinger for the same AAV? They all likely produce roughly the same WAR.
  17. We need to start charging other teams and players a commission for using us.
  18. Right? I almost wonder, given the league size, if we should be considering increasing the number of bench slots for next year.
  19. I would NOT be happy with Burnes for 7/252.
  20. If the reports are true that the front office had permission to bid higher on Soto and wouldn't, then it might make some sense. Perhaps this is ownership's way of prodding the front office into actually trying to land one or two of the bats we need rather than being stuck on whatever strict valuation they're using.
  21. That Steamer comp also projects the defense at very significantly below where it has been the last 3 years. If he actually hits the projected offensive numbers, he probably puts up 4+ WAR. I like Horwitz, but he's also 27 and has played a little over half a season. It's entirely possible the league adjusts and he struggles like Schneider did last year.
  22. I think I'm okay with the trade. There is definite upside potential, but we desperately need multiple power bats to complement this.
  23. Apparently Soto also has escalators in the agreement that can push it over 800M
  24. What makes you think Quantrill can't be a reliever? He hasn't been a starter his entire career. In 61.1 relief innings, he's put up a 1.91 ERA with batters hitting .233/.316/.323 against him. His xFIP isn't as rosy, but he's one of those pitchers with some wicked secondary stuff that can be used much more frequently out of the pen.
  25. Even at $15M, is it really all that bad? There's a reasonable chance he averages 2.5 WAR for the contract length.
