  1. These are the pitching changes I hate (and the ones that drain the crap out of the pen).
  2. He doesn't really seem to have changed anything. His stuff seems pretty much the same as earlier in his career. Baseball has just seen an explosion in velocity and spin in recent years.
  3. Wasn't even a bad pitch. Rowdy just hit it.
  4. I think Tate was DFA'd. We should have Fisher, Fluharty, Garcia, Green, Hoffman, Lauer, Little, Rodriguez. You have to think Rodriguez, Little, and Garcia are probably unavailable. They'd likely prefer not to use Hoffman if possible. Still some innings available down there.
  5. Gotta give the ump some credit for not tossing anyone yet. He's given quite a bit of rope.
  6. He might actually be a plus defender now. He's also been lowering his strikeout rate. He's a guy who could be a tweak away from breaking out.
  7. Remember when throwing 93 or 94 made you a power pitcher?
  8. We don't know that he was told to bunt. He may have done that on his own to draw in the infield.
  9. Holy Crap! Vladdy made a hell of a play on that one!
  10. Yeah, but he'll toss you out of the game if you think you know one lol.
  11. Buckner's strike zone is straight out of the 90s.
  12. We got a break and capitalized? Is that allowed?
  13. It's almost like there's a reason for wearing a helmet.
  14. Bautista could be frustrating for long stretches too. I mean, we regularly referred to him as Poptista. He was kind of the polar opposite of Vladdy. He killed birds instead of worms.
  15. We're relying way too much on trying to get favourable matchups.
  16. It looks like it. He appears to come set between all the wiggles, then starts again as part of his windup.
  17. Oh FFS. If there's any guy that can deal with this stuff, it's Bassitt.
  18. Burning another pitcher here seems kind of silly. Surely a position player is going to handle the 8th?
  19. I think he might have lost it. It looks like a bright grey/white sky.
  20. I wonder who is going to come up for depth in game 2? They can probably get someone from Buffalo here in time, so you have to figure someone will be. Milacki maybe?
  21. Also Schneider: Heaven forbid the starting pitcher goes over 90 pitches.
  22. 44 pitches in the inning, I'm not sure how you leave him out there. Injury risk has to be getting up there a little.
  23. Depends on whether you're competing or rebuilding.
