  1. I find it highly unlikely that's how it happened. It was an internal matter. Unless they were looking for a reason to fire him anyway, it should have been a very quick and easy investigation to determine what actually happened. It sounds like there were several witnesses. This strongly feels like Bosio trying to save face.
  2. I like this. He's a lottery ticket, but it sounds like he has the tools to have a legit shot at being useful. Infield version of Tony Kemp maybe? Pearce really serves no purpose on the team now.
  3. Adames just fouled a ball off his foot, that then bounced up and knocked his helmet off. Don't think I've seen that before.
  4. Springer totally sold a foul ball off his foot. He took one later though as penance.
  5. We can call up Gurriel if necessary, or let Solarte handle it for the odd game.
  6. Greinke manufacturing his own run, with a single, stolen base, and scoring on shallow single.
  7. Meh, really not a big deal. More of a fun story than something that's going to destroy his kids. The wow, your dad was a major leaguer probably trumps whatever s*** kids give him.
  8. s***, that cost me a double up.
  9. Yeah, that would be preferable. Peacock has an extra year of control though, is currently cheaper, and has started more recently. I suspect they'd prefer to hang onto him out of the two.
  10. Tigers fired their pitching coach after only 1/2 year on the job.
  11. Like I said, I think they'll use McHugh to upgrade LF in a trade with someone. It would be nice if it's us given we may lose a few starters this offseason, but I expect it of someone.
  12. I'd be extremely surprised if they're both on the team come the deadline. Now whether we can manage to pry one away or not, who knows.
  13. Yeah, but Jake is striking out at a 44% clip this year (150 PA). It's the one spot in their lineup that could be improved on.
  14. I could possibly see them having interest in Pillar to play LF. Other than that, they're pretty stacked.
  15. McHugh would actually be a really interesting target for us at the deadline, if we're sellers.
  16. As a Bregman owner in fantasy, I wish we could play the Astros 162 games a year. As a Jays fan, I never want to see him again.
  17. Mixed, but overall about what I'd expect to see. Of the 4 walks, 3 were to Altuve (I'm not sure he even threw him a strike at all). I'm a little bit concerned that he doesn't seem to really have a strikeout pitch. The change gets outs, but didn't seem to generate a lot of swing and miss. Hopefully we'll see him get to face a normal team and get a better read.
  18. s***, that was a great catch.
  19. I wonder why Gurriel has the elbow pad on while fielding?
  20. It makes more sense for JD to take the QO than sign a one year deal at a similar price, because that gets it off the table in the future.
  21. Borucki's dad is awesome. He said something roughly like this: "Ryan's gonna be a little bit nervous, Ryan's dad is gonna be losing his mind the whole game."
  22. The QO makes a lot of sense for both sides. It gets compensation off the table for Donaldson heading into free agency in 2020 while letting him rebuild value, and it gets us another year of an elite player without a long commitment.
  23. He's a fairly strong ground ball pitcher, who hasn't given up a whole lot of home runs in the minors. They may hit him a bit, but I wouldn't assume they'll hit it out.
