  1. Meh, it does for some guys. In fact, there's a pair of excellent examples starting against each other right now.
  2. Well, I mean you could extend the logic by saying that a catcher giving signs to the pitcher is cheating, etc. It's just a nonsensical argument in general.
  3. They're right that robo umps would eliminate it, but as far as cheating goes when JPA was catching by their logic the other team was cheating by getting the favorable calls due to him taking balls OUT of the zone.
  4. Yes, and he can't be QO'd, so it wouldn't cost us a draft pick.
  5. That's incredibly stupid on his part. If a contender DOES sign him, he'll likely get low leverage, inconsistent junk innings with a quick hook. It's unlikely he'll work his way out of the funk he's in that way.
  6. I'd love for us to pick up Greg Holland as a FA (as soon his release goes through). Chances are we'll be pawning off a few relievers, and we could offer him high leverage spots to rebuild value the rest of the year for league min. Maybe if he pitches well in August, we can even trade him for something then.
  7. We said the same thing about Liriano. The Jays will cover his salary, the team that trades for him will cover the buyout, and we'll get some low probability wildcard or something. Just my opinion.
  8. Jaime Garcia won't be a Jay by the end of the trade deadline imo. He has a 10M option next year with a 2M buyout, and looks to be moving by mutual agreement to a full time reliever. The team will almost certainly be hoping to do with him what we did with Liriano last year.
  9. I'm fine with his defense. The biggest issues IMO is the odd bad read, and always throwing to the wrong base. Hopefully he's more teachable in that regard than Carrera was. I think his bat still has upside left also. I could quite easily see him settle in as a 125 to 130 wRC+ type guy as he hopefully learns to become more selective.
  10. I would assume a few guys will be traded too.
  11. He'll probably be back in a few days.
  12. Not really, they'll just use Frazier.
  13. Pretty sure Atkins was talking about the organization, not the MLB club by itself.
  14. I actually agree. I don't think he'll ever be a star, but he could be at least average while providing some versatility for the next few years. There's some untapped hitting ability there I think.
  15. I wonder what kind of prospect they'd give up if we were to eat Fowler and Holland's contracts? That would free up a lot of money for them. Actually, we line up quite well with them. Send them Grandy as their 4th outfielder, Solarte to add backup with pop on the infield, and Tepera. We take Fowler and Holland's contracts off their hands, plus Alex Reyes
  16. Pretty decent return. Don't forget about the PTBNL too.
  17. Could your source be from one of the 20 or so posts about Happ for Drury in this thread over the last two days?
  18. Yeah, I'm happy with that. Wall is a guy you can dream a little on, although probably in left field unless his speed has rebounded a bit from the last reports.
  19. I would, yes, unless we can pry a high end prospect away from someone. All his road numbers are in line with his career numbers, he just can't seem to pitch in Yankee Stadium.
  20. Angels and White Sox have combined to get 11 of the first 12 outs via strikeout.
  21. Good, send him to the Mariners to play CF.
  22. Seems like Bouchard is still in his game. I mean, I guess it's possible the Jays simply said to let him finish the game, but that seems unusual.
  23. I like him as a secondary piece. I wouldn't be too happy if he's the headliner.
  24. Said he's expected to be (speculation), not that he is. They're just going off the same report of him being pulled I'd expect.
  25. The following guys are available cheap, regardless of whether or not I decide to be a buyer or seller: Michael A Taylor (get your SB) Pedroia Gaviglio Ziegler Miley Estrada Shelby Miller
