    I used to live not far away from where those fires are burning (probably close enough to see the glow). Very thankful I'm not now, but know lots of people in the area.

    Why would you take an elite defender and move him to another position, to make room for an average defender (at best)? If you sign JD, move Vladdy to another position.

    There could be some off the field stuff that isn't public knowledge, and the front office doesn't want to deal with it if it leaks. Hopefully not, but who knows.

    To be fair, he's produced a high BABIP pretty consistently for 3 years now. I think the odds are against him at the major league level, but it could be an interesting case study.

    We have what, 5 weeks until the start of the season? Might be hard to get a dispersal and waiver draft done that quickly unless people are really on the ball.

    That was a ball that Martin really has to charge instead of laying back. Overall he's looked viable at 3rd though, at least in terms of part time duty.

    I like his framing. I don't like how he moves his glove while the pitcher is in their delivery. I'm not sure about some of the pitches he's calling either. He looks really good at the plate. All of the issues are things that should be fairly easy to work on.

    "Sometimes it's better to clear the bases and clear your mind". No, I'm pretty sure giving up a grand slam is never a good thing.

    It must be really unnerving as a batter to face a guy with triple digit heat and no idea where it's going.

    Snell looks like he has really nasty stuff today, although the Yankees are doing a good job working his pitch count. He's throwing 97 to 98 with command.

    Freeman hit by a pitch too. Not watching the game, but given the pitcher is still in I'm guessing it wasn't questionable.
