  1. Between 2015 and 2017, the cumulative WAR leaders among relievers are Jansen, Miller, Chapman, Betances, Osuna, Kimbrel, Giles, Britton, Allen, and Robertson. Those 10 guys reordered via xFIP are Miller, Jansen, Britton, Kimbrel, Chapman, Betances, Giles, Robertson, Allen, Osuna. Basically we got a guy who is effectively an equal to Osuna plus two prospects, in exchange for losing a year of control. I would have preferred to get an elite prospect instead of a closer back, but value wise this was just fine.
  2. I wouldn't be surprised if Hector Rondon remains the closer, at least this year.
  3. 9:20ish start time.
  4. Seems she does a lot of raging against people who don't share her opinion.
  5. Sounds like an O's type of thing to do.
  6. 250k bonus pool, ATL picks up full salary.
  7. This is where Stroman should be pinch running.
  8. Yeah, I agree. If anyone was going to do a deal like that though, I could see it being AA given his potential attachment to a few of the players. I'm sure Pompey is just coming up to replace Grandy. Maybe they're planning on calling up a few other guys to AAA, and needed the roster spot for Urshela. I don't really see a need for bringing him up here.
  9. Well, I'm trying to look from AA's potential perspective. He's seen first-hand what Estrada can do in the playoffs, and I'm pretty sure he was very high on Pompey. They're looking for BP help, which Tepera definitely provides and Clippard probably provides. Solarte gives them a bench bat with pop who can back up the infield, and is probably better suited to the NL anyway. I mean, I wouldn't do the trade if I was Atlanta, but I can see something like that being a non-zero possibility. 3 of the 5 guys have cheap controllability too.
  10. I could see a definite fit with Atlanta. Atlanta is willing to trade Gohara to upgrade their pen and roster apparently. Let's say something like Estrada, Pompey, Tepera, Clippard, Solarte for Gohara? That pretty much ticks off all their needs, especially if we're willing to cover the money on Estrada who becomes a wildcard for them.
  11. Maybe, or maybe they're included in whatever trade.
  12. To Abomination: Hector Rondon To Connor: Goodrum + 2nd MiLB
  13. Wait, so you're calling Travis an above average hitter, comparing Gurriel to him, and saying that Gurriel can't succeed because he has the same profile?
  14. Schoop almost homered in his 6th straight game, but was robbed by Wendle.
  15. Yes, but mainly because I really like Gohara.
  16. Stop trying to down more Tallboys than Spanky.
  17. The contract is manageable if he's hitting above average, and that's assuming we didn't eat any of it. It's not like he's earning 20M a year.
  18. The team is almost certainly going to trade Solarte. If he's the one on the bench, that's not good 3 days before the deadline. Giving Devon a day or two off isn't going to hurt anything.
  19. He only threw 13 pitches, he should still be available for 1 or 2 innings today.
  20. Axford looks like he isn't overthrowing. So much smoother and under control.
  21. I feel like this isn't the first time that assumption on McKinney was made either. Maybe in one of the fantasy draft threads?
  22. I think we'll probably have an opening in the BBDL if we don't hear from jays_fever really soon. If we need to replace him, I'd like to do it before the league trade deadline (Aug 5) to give a new owner a chance to tailor their team. Also, SirBJay, could you please at least add guys to the DL / NA and pick up a few FA to field a roster?
