  1. Okay, that broke my Spanky to English translator. Can someone help out?
  2. I'd part with O'Hearn if someone wants a young 1B.
  3. Zunino is probably gonna knock a quarter of a run off Snell's ERA, if not more if you factor in extra batters caught stealing.
  4. Now this is an exciting way to start a game.
  5. It would only be the SP who wouldn't be quite up to strength (maybe), and most aren't going deep enough for it to matter now anyway. I'd be fine the September bit if you can't replace any pitcher who (say) throws more than 50 pitches for at least four days.
  6. He'd be a really good fit for the Red Sox, after that cringe worthy world series.
  7. Yeah, it's not like the Jays aren't spending, they're just not spending on his guys.
  8. Well there is a lot to love in general, it's just not the type of move I expected to see from the Rays.
  9. Maybe, but Suzuki has played the last six years in Oakland, Minnesota, and Atlanta so it's not like he went to prime places. He also earned 1.5M last year and 3.5M this year, so even bumping him up to Zunino's range may be enough to get him.
  10. It had already bounced back some in the second half. I don't think they're wrong to sell high on Smith, I'm just surprised to see them take a more expensive ~2 WAR catcher with less years of control. They probably could have signed someone like Kurt Suzuki and gotten similar results at a similar price, in addition to getting something else for Smith.
  11. Huh, the Rays must really REALLY like Zunino. Maybe they can get that strikeout rate down a bit and get his offense up to its potential.
  12. I think you'll see more of an emphasis on guys without significant platoon splits higher in the order. Benches are so thin you can't really spare people for a 1st inning matchup on offense.
  13. The refs are really determined not to give any fouls against Utah. FVV got absolutely mauled.
  14. It's not good when you have more turnovers than points lol.

Reminds me of another article today about an NFL quarterback who was pissing the coaches off by ignoring the video they were giving him to watch (but said he watched them). They started sending him blank videos, then waited to see how deep he'd dig himself.
  17. He's out according to the confirmed RotoWire lineup. Lowry, Green, Anunoby, Siakam, and JV are the starting five.
  18. He's gonna be so amped when he gets called up. Either the pitch is going through the catcher or his arm is.
  19. Don't think so. Well, his pride maybe.
  20. Serge with 20 points, Lowry with 9 assists lol. Too bad they'll probably sit for half the game.
  21. Kawhi who? Man the Raps look smooth tonight.
  22. Complaining about it and doing nothing seems kind of beta...
  23. Well, pretty damn close. It's also assuming a fairly steep age regression from what I can tell, which if his health improves is likely to be more than cancelled out. I stand by my opinion that it's a good deal for LA and a bad one for Kershaw, unless Kershaw knows something catastrophic about his health that we don't.
  24. I pity the team that gives either of those guys that kind of contract. Unless it's Boston or New York. f*** them. I'd maybe be okay with 2/22 for Cahill if the second year is vesting based on innings pitched (say 150+).
  25. Plus incentives apparently. I'm not too high on this from Kershaw's perspective, unless the incentives are fairly significant. Maybe the market just isn't there for him after some health issues the last few years, but I feel like hitting the market as the best SP in a weak FA year could have netted him an extra 4 years at 25M / year above what he got. Maybe he ends up getting that anyway, but a major injury could cost him a ton. From the Dodgers perspective, this makes a lot of sense imo. They don't want him to leave this offseason while they're in the middle of an elite compete phase, and they probably don't want to pay him many additional years in case he's about to break down. This couldn't have worked out much better for them.
