  1. Even the streakers can't avoid getting clobbered by guys in blue.
  2. Both these teams know this is a best of 5 and not best of 3, right?
  3. It might make sense to carry a speed guy for the next series, maybe Loperfido.
  4. I feel like someone in the stats department is running the numbers on IKF from his career and not the last 2 seasons when he lost the ability to hit lefties. Otherwise, this lineup seems fine.
  5. Was that old tin of cards yours? :) We used to play all the time when I was in high school. I still have mine somewhere. I know the dual mana cards used to be worth a good amount, but I never had any.
  6. That's not what they're saying. The Jays want him available to pitch after Gausman if necessary.
  7. I don't think they wanted to give the Yankees extra looks at our better relievers. Then again, they pitched Hoffman yesterday so maybe I'm being too generous.
  8. Well, this should help sort out the pen for the next series anyway (assuming we advance). It would be ideal to have someone like Scherzer or Bassitt to eat these innings.
  9. It *probably* should be. Judge never touched it and it took a tough hop off the wall right before it got to him. Don't get me wrong, Judge definitely misplayed the ball, but that doesn't generally result in a error. When guys lose the ball in the sun or dive for a ball and miss it rather than keeping it in front of them it's generally not scored a hit and an error. I don't really see how this is any different.
  10. Doesn't matter at all in the playoffs. He probably would have had to throw 140 pitches to get it anyway, which would be monumentally stupid for a rookie in a game like this.
  11. That was a hell of a catch by Bruihl on that dart from Vladdy.
  12. I think they'll give him one more inning. The Yankees do have a lot of very good hitters and can put up runs in bunches. No reason to push him beyond that though. I can definitely see an argument for pulling him now just in case he is needed in a game 5.
  13. Tomorrow is an off-day, so probably not as critical for them to do that. I'd imagine we could see some position players for the final two innings though (or is that allowed in the postseason?)
  14. You want your starter to average about 15 pitches an inning. Yesavage is right on that mark.
  15. How the hell did Clement hit that ball out? It was almost a one handed swing.
  16. Vladdy's single broke statcast that can't figure out the launch angle.
  17. Great start! No issue with walking Judge. Make someone else beat us.
  18. The Jays could sweep them and all they'll talk about is how the Yankees were the better team and got unlucky. Ignore it. They're telling their audience what they want to hear. This was a statement game and it's now up to the Yankees to respond to it on the field.
  19. This game really couldn't have gone any better. If tomorrow is a tight game, softening up the bullpen could pay big dividends.
  20. This. Hopefully he has a quick inning though.
  21. This is probably the right move at the right time.
  22. Well, that's not what you want to see.
  23. They can't give makeup calls next year.
