  1. I'm not sure what I think about this. It definitely improves the pen (at a fairly hefty cost), and he's a guy who should be mostly immune to aging assuming he continues to show a rubber arm, but we really need to address the offense too. That payroll is starting to get to the point where we need to ask if they can go much higher.
  2. I think it's going to be hard for the Jays to trade Berrios unless it's for another questionable contract. Maybe someone like (but not) Yoshida.
  3. imo Bellinger feels pretty similar to Springer when we signed him.
  4. Sonny Gray might be a decent trade candidate, especially if we could send Yariel back as part of the return to offset some of the salary. Not sure what kind of prospect he'd cost, but there's rumors of him being available. That's the type of transaction I think we'll see to address the starting rotation.
  5. I feel like they'll trade for a starting pitcher and sign a FA hitter + closer.
  6. He seems to be worth pretty close to that, at least on the front half of the contract. He's put up 4.2 WAR or higher for 5 straight years (including his half year in 2024). Fangraphs pegs that at 39.4, 38.9, 39.3, 33.7, 36. I'd be more concerned about his durability as he ages. Regardless, he's probably not in the budget unless we can't resign Bo.
  7. No way to know. It's not at all unusual for a young player to burst onto the scene, then struggle when the league starts to figure them out. Maybe the playoffs were Barger readjusting or maybe it was just small sample size variance. The fact he was hitting lefties well too was very encouraging though.
  8. This result really hurts, but we just witnessed one of the greatest world series in history.
  9. Well, we have 2 guys coming up with some power and one who may be able to get hit by a pitch.
  10. Would Straw hitting one out be comparable to Rojas doing it?
  11. I don't mind Dominguez being brought in here, regardless of what ends up happening. I think Beiber comes in next inning for the top of the lineup.
  12. OMG, this game is amazing! Also, the Dodgers have a horseshoe up their asses.
  13. Barger is having some absolutely brilliant at-bats verses the lefties.
  14. I hate losing Bo from this game, but that's a move you have to make.
  15. These first two hitters are incredibly important. Don't let Ohtani come up with runners on.
  16. Muncy is going to need some new tighty whities after that.
  17. With Yesavage warm anyway, I think you start the 8th with Yesavage and go to Hoffman if it seems dicey.
