Especially in a bat-heavy and pitching-poor draft. I'd rather draft bats early, and raw but higher upside pitching late. -

Not necessarily. They may simply like him a lot more than anyone else left on the board. I'm pretty sure we get a pick one below next year if we fail to sign him, so may as well chase the upside. -

They really need to allow this. -
I wouldn't mind if we reached a bit and took Espino. Make him a reliever immediately and fast track him, and he's probably with the club right when we start needing an elite, back of the pen option. He also might allow us to save some cash and take a tougher sign who slides. Otherwise, I agree. Buy pitchers, develop bats.

If they put it in Curry's hands at the end, he probably takes up the whole clock and launches something that hits the rim, eating those remaining two or three seconds entirely (assuming he isn't fouled, and he's deadly there too). I just don't think you can hold off in that situation. Foul early on the best target you can get, then give yourself lots of clock to get a good look.

I don't like the no fouling approach there. Foul Green (70% in the playoffs) and force him to make pressure packed shots.
