  1. Wheeler has higher WAR due to the differences in FIP, but xFIP they're 3.91, 3.63 vs 3.81, 3.74 which is really a negligible difference. I feel like Gibson will be looking more at a 3/45 deal, and Wheeler will likely get a big deal. Wheeler seems like someone who should be putting up ace-like numbers and for some reason really isn't. I don't really want to pay ace money for someone with both injury and performance risk.
  2. I'm not opposed to that. I think if I had to choose between the two though, I'd rather Gibson.
  3. I think I'd actually prefer to have Gibson over Wheeler. I'm not convinced you'd have to give him 5 years either.
  4. Jansen sucked dick until he found out he needed glasses. I mean, I'm sure the development system has helped him, you know, develop too, but I'm not giving them credit for an eye exam. IMO every player, every year should be undergoing one in spring training.
  5. Only 8.5 back of Atlanta too, and they play each other 9 times still. Stranger things have happened.
  6. And he still took like 2 days to accept it I have concerns about Urias and Madrigal's power. Either or both could end up turning into a McNeil type player and it wouldn't surprise me at all, but I felt like it was worth the risk for me. I think it's a trade that works well for both of us. Definitely not one that would be done in real life though.
  7. Excellent claim. More please!
  8. To P2F: Madrigal and Luis Urias To Abomination: Brandon Lowe We'll do the Urias and Lowe part via Yahoo.
  9. Man, the left side of our infield is fun to watch at the plate, but ...
  10. I don't want to dig it out right now, but someone needs to post that DJ Stewart botched sliding catch.
  11. Lester is taking one for the team (11 runs given up so far). And yes, I took him in DFS.
  12. Yeah, sometimes these innings just happen. Lester just gave up 8 runs in the 2nd.
  13. Ah, preseason. The time for weird injuries: https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2848690-raiders-rumors-antonio-brown-suffered-frostbitten-feet-from-cryotherapy-machine?utm_source=cnn.com&utm_campaign=editorial&utm_medium=referral
  14. What a weird pitching line. 2 innings, 2 hits, 3 ER, 1 walk, 6 K's.
  15. Lol, that was an ... interesting swing.
  16. What the f*** is chaturb?
  17. If Stroman was only asking for that, they should have taken it before the agent could reconsider no matter how much he pissed the front office off. That's under 5M / WAR. I suspect Stroman's camp was probably asking in the 22M - 25M range.
  18. Wilmer Font having a nickname of FONKY is one hell of a waste. At least Reese McGuire gets it!
  19. Even I've been trying to trade for non-mediocre starters. Me!
  20. Pillar is someone who derived all of his value from his defense, and that doesn't traditionally age very well. We can debate the merits of extending Grichuk, but extending Pillar would not have been wise.
  21. I'm kind of thinking Polish or German.
  22. Meh, good pitcher, the 3rd baseman was well back. I don't mind it in that situation. He was clearly bunting for a base hit, and worse case you still move the runner. If he placed it better, he would have easily been safe.
  23. The Rays really work their pen, and they have a good one, so I think the idea is to make sure they can't match up as effectively. I would argue that Vladdy and Gurriel should be swapped in this instance though.
  24. Not until the Jays sign Harvey and he gas cans his way out of my heart.
