  1. Both teams have hit 5 balls 100+ mph. The difference in the game is that they elevated 2 of them.
  2. Kirby is doing a great job of keeping the ball out of the middle of the plate.
  3. This. He made a handful of starts coming off TJS before the playoffs. We haven't seen elite Bieber yet. His command isn't all the way back.
  4. This is probably the right move. I assume the plan is to give him this out and next inning.
  5. They won't want to bring him in during an inning. I'm sure they want Varland for the heart of the order next inning (if needed).
  6. He just hit a 109.6 mph line drive with an expected xBA of .700
  7. The batted ball luck is definitely not favouring us so far.
  8. It's been interesting hearing the umps talk during the game. I wish they did that (and the ump cam) during the regular season.
  9. Yeah, I don't think he throws him out anyway. Clearly misjudged it though.
  10. He wasn't running overly well, but better than I expected. If we advance, he should be mostly recovered for the WS.
  11. No, he was warming up. I assume he'll be the closer tomorrow if needed. I'm fine with it. Roll with the pitcher who is feeling good rather than guessing at what you may get.
  12. I'm okay with Hoffman finishing out this game. Hopefully he has a quick inning.
  13. I don't think I put Springer in the lineup tomorrow if I'm the Jays. He has no legs beneath him at all. Let him rest a few days and get him in there for the WS
  14. I have to think they were banking on Little's ability to miss bats and generate weak contact. The problem is he also missed the plate.
  15. Not really. Ernie would move to 2nd and Barger to 3rd. Straw would still come in to RF.
  16. I'm not sure you really want to go after Barger here instead of Clement. Barger has a very quick bat on the inside of the plate.
  17. After his performance in game 4, IMO Hoffman should be pitching the 8th. I think they'll give it to Dominguez though.
  18. They really should have someone warming up in case the offense has a quick inning again. You want your reliever to be fully warmed up.
  19. You'd have to think Varland for the rest of this inning and the 7th, then Dominguez and Hoffman for the 8th and 9th.
  20. Seems like both managers this series have learned something about pulling the starter early.
