    I don't like the benching at all. If the tie break was his I'd absolutely think it was the right move but NJH gets the tie break. With just .02 between the two in OBP and NJH with two players going and Ortiz having a good record against Nova (and most Yankees)...well we'll see. Not looking like a great move now, hope he's at least getting a handy at the movie.

    Will Kemp ever be fully healthy? Cano started with an out. I have no preference to who wins but I'd love to see BTS' strategy to bench Ortiz backfire.

    anyone else have Yahoo Fantasy go down...I tried both browsers and I can't log on to baseball or football whereas I checked baseball a half hour ago

    go to any Intercounty game guys...you'll see guys that played in the minors (and a couple in the bigs...Scotty Thorman for sure he may actually be the only one right now), they love to talk about it. I only got out to one game this year (Barrie Baycats) and Jonathan Fernandez talked to me for about 20 minutes after the game. Told me that his Dad made it out to 5 games this year so you might see a legend too. I was disappointed with who umped the game though...was hoping for someone I could heckle all game.

    Of the 9 guys who currently have 30 HR's...3 have 150 hits. so we have one...which 4 of the other 8 do you want. Davis, Miggy and Goldschmidt are a good start, maybe we hope Jose and JPA get there next year and leave Davis out of the equation.

    Sierra has no options left and if he's not dropped this org is a lot stupider than even I thought. Rajai can go f*** himself, of his 1.0 WAR 0.9 came from his Baserunning, he's been below replacement level even with the BsR since July 1st. One hammy pull and he's negative replacement level for the entire season. Pillar and Gose have options and should be fighting for the 4th spot in Spring against a bevy of minor league contract guys who can play a little CF. Guaranteeing a contract to a forth OF would be completely stupid, so I fully expect it to happen.

    selling high might have been tough when most everyone knew what he was/is. I'm completely shocked by the 2 for 17 against lefties (only 3 K's at least, with 2 walks) but he's exactly what many of us said he'd be against righties.

    it is somewhat funny that if Adam Foster hadn't got it completely wrong about Lawrie's D in the IF there is a chance that he wasn't that far off by saying his bat wasn't good enough for LF...the LF that his slash line is closest to is probably Kelly Johnson.

    7 BB/7 K's in 117 PA's in August...1 BB/9K in 42 PA's in September. I earlier wrote the following I've been watching more Jays in 30 than full games so I can't say if something is different but the results are obviously different.

    I'd guess traded for cash makes more sense. Someone who uses 5 OF will consider him for Spring and hope he falls through waiver if he doesn't make it in Spring.

    Midseason? I jumped to 5th 4 weeks ago and got myself a great cushion on 9th. I tend to be one of the least active trade guys as I prefer a big deal (Santana for Myers, Kipnis for Infante and Fowler). The guys I would have liked to move had zero value...outside of trading Segura I really didn't have great options (or didn't seek them). I'm not exactly set up well for next year as I have one of the oldest teams. Living on one good pitcher and crap others tends not to work for a whole season.

    pretty sure that merging sports would be quite the battle as there are all those sports heads and staff that would be in for a fight to keep their cushy jobs. I'd love to see more sports...but it's all about the dollar.

    it's possible that I could lose by less than 2 games and could track it directly to Friday's decision to play Saunders over Lake which would have, at the current time, given me a full game ahead of where I am. I don't think it matters but it could. Regardless I had 10 games on 9th 3 weeks ago...my team just isn't good enough

    when royal families participate in a sport it unfortunately has pull. I understand that one of presentations in school will be on the IOC event selections and the process. I think I'll be pretty outspoken.

    If they aren't trying to extend Rasmus this year I hope they are at least talking to teams. If the team has another non-competitive season next season and Colby won't negotiate...you have to know what you might be looking at for him.

    I was going to say similar...that if they understood defense better they would have been a little more prepared for this. Anyone who thought the Jays would be a top defensive team must have thought a lot of balls would be hit to third.

    I'd have no issue with Gose being our starting CF (in a platoon as he shouldn't face lefties) but not moving Rasmus to LF to do it. If Rasmus had huge trade value (at this point I don't think he's got as much trade value as real value so it's most likely a moot point) then you deal him, and go with the strong D, light hitting CF. Not to mention the only way that Melky isn't the LF next year is if he's not healthy enough to do so.
