  1. That was VanLand's accusation and proven to be false.
  2. Dogg is here as Real Accountant. JaysFan2014 was JaysRays.
  3. why does everyone assume the dogg was every other troll from that other board. They have very different approaches.
  4. I want a top young Shortstop and I'm willing to move several young valuable pieces to get this done. If my attempts to get a shortstop fail I'll be looking to deal one of my 2B's (Panik or Forsythe). The first overall is in play but once again that's in my SS negotiations mostly. Looking for a 1B who isn't Morales, and starting pitching under 27 as well. Jose Fernandez and Syndergaard are likely not in play. Mesoraco is supposed to be healthy next year and is going to remain at catcher so he's in play too.
  5. Mod support will not be tolerated.
  6. I don't disagree. I hoped the Rays would contend all season and just before the deadline it looked like they might make a run (their second half run differential was actually much better in their 32-36 second half) but they just didn't have the talent on the field to do it this year. The real argument here was projections vs. impressions. TL tried to base on argument on his eye test and failed (even though the projection argument was hurt by Cobb, Smyly and Jennings going down, it still did better than the eye test in this case). I honestly don't mind honest opinions and gut feels, but in TL's case he decided to take on a really smart guy in a field that he understands really really well. Then the Pole decided to take up the cause and also use the Rays as an example of why projections don't always work, and also in turn looked like an ass. It's kind of my job to rub his face in the s*** of a thread he started.
  7. I personally thought I'd be learning about warming up your feet before getting into bed. I have this for King and Boxy... Do I think 02 is a bad mod...nope. Do I think it's bad for the board when 02 goes on his banning sprees...Does a FASD kid have a Low Nasal Bridge? But the results are consistent at this point so why the f*** do Boxy and King engage O2 at all. To prove they are in the right? f*** off it's a message board no one is in the right, part of the charm of this place is that it is full of the socially awkward or deviants. Deflect your anger issues at me, I'm a big boy and can take it.
  8. Statheads were right again
  9. it's because he no showed on Saturday (and last night) isn't it?
  10. The NL and Astros if they get there.
  11. Opinion/experience, it is a very blanket statement (and I apologize for that as it can't be proven or disproved) but it's been consistent with my opinion all year. Prior to the Jays great run post trade deadline it was a league of .500 teams (even after the deadline it's been 4 teams with good records and the rest .500 or worse...and two of those teams good since are still well out of the playoffs). If the Jays had the same record in the NL at the trade deadline they more likely would have had a tough decision to be buyers or sellers as they were 6 games behind the wildcard (and even with 42-15 run still are a game back of the NL wildcard.
  12. I just meant playing your own division. I could see them saying something like WC winner vs top team not in their division. Not a big deal at all. This year it would mean that St. Louis would play the Dodgers or Mets. The Jays would avoid the Yanks if they won the ALWC and Jays are first. It is scheduled in to be discussed at the winter meetings at least. The Cards have a losing record to 1 team this year (1-2 against Detroit), and are 34-24 against playoff teams. Jays are 24-15 but most of that is their record over the Yankees. The NL might be top heavy but to claim it's weaker than the AL is egregious. This is the weakest the AL has been in 20 years.
  13. He was the 2010 1st overall pick in the KBO after winning a bunch of National Collegiate championships. Throws low to mid 90's as a reliever, had a bunch of injuries and missed all of this year. It is a hitters league but in comparison Rak has those horrible stats and Zach Stewart has gone over there and put up Psy (I just assume that is what their best pitcher award is called) numbers with a 2.80 ERA and 4.0 k/bb ratio in 112 innings.
  14. There are guys they could have brought in which would be better than Smith or Sampson. Those are waiver pick ups that had options still or could have just been left in the minors. It's not like they have a huge roster crunch. I kind of like the concept of the most wins after elimination gets the first pick. The teams eliminated first have an advantage but it forces you to continue to attempt to put out a competitive roster. I will put together numbers of what this would look like in baseball this year. Probably screws the AL teams who stayed in the race longer than the NL.
  15. They are playing the 1st place team regardless, so it's the Cards vs. 2nd or 3rd best records in baseball. That should be enough to change the format for next year.
  16. in the 3 years of the 2 wildcard teams...the WC winner is 3-3 in the DS. Of the 3 losers 2 went to 5 games (and lost in pitching duels), TB lost in 4. There is no real data that says it's a huge advantage to play the WC winner.
  17. Is it time that baseball do something about tanking or is it enough of a non-factor because of the uncertainty of the draft anyway. Houston last year was blatant. Reds have an outside shot at the 1st overall pick, and they were 5 games behind the Jays on Tulo trade day. Pitching rookie starters 60 straight games
  18. Don't worry Jim, I fully support your Douchy Downer stance.
  19. Pretty sure that Lois Lane was a goy
  20. a fan voted award really...you are a fan of an AL East winning team now, better is expected. It's been a while for you so I'll forgive.
  21. Too many good candidates this year. Theo never got his in Boston somehow...he gets it this year. Alderson is really the competition for him. BTW Amaro didn't win in 2009
  22. Kevin...I don't think that girl is a Yid!
  23. I need a GIF of that waddle and fist pump
