  1. Is he? He's a league-average defender, a league-average runner and in his career a league-average hitter. Lots of GMs will be scared off at the strikeouts and inconsistency too. The "talent" comment comes from his days as a prospect. 2806 PA in you have to throw that out the window and see that he struggles to make contact and is not an elite power threat. Keep in mind that we'll throw him the QO. He's not a good enough player to warrant GMs not caring about the QO IMO. Would you definitively say he has a better FA case than Drew, Salty, etc. had this offseason? I don't see it.
  2. Well, Niese pitched last year with a partially torn rotator cuff and spent time on the DL this year with elbow issues... not good. One of these days he'll break.
  3. KANSAS CITY, MO (May 26, 2014) The Kansas City Royals announce today that they have acquired OF BRYCE HARPER and 1B ADAM LAROCHE from the Washington Nationals and SP PHIL HUGHES from the Minnesota Twins. The Washington Nationals will pay for an undisclosed portion of Hughes' salary. In the deal, the Nationals acquire from the Royals 1B ERIC HOSMER, 3B MIKE MOUSTAKAS, OF BUBBA STARLING, SP KYLE ZIMMER, SP YORDANO VENTURA ,the Fortieth (40th) Selection in the 2014 First-Year Player Draft and a Player To Be Named Later or Cash. The Minnesota Twins acquire from the Royals SP MIGUEL ALMONTE. Harper, a 21-year old who fell out of favour with the Nationals organization due to a chronic lack of hustle, is hitting .289 with 9 RBI this season. He is currently out with a thumb-related injury and will be transferred to the Royals 15-day Disabled List. Starling, Almonte and Almonte are all top prospects and will likely be transferred to a minor league affiliate of the acquiring team. A press conference will be held tonight at Kauffman Stadium prior to the game to address this move and what it means for the Kansas City Royals organization.
  4. I'll trade you Bubba + Kyle Zimmer + #40 + Eric Hosmer + Mike Moustakas + (PTBNL or Cash) for Harper + LaRoche
  5. What kind of bat could you give me for Bubba + #40?
  6. I (Dayton Moore) would consider trading the #40 pick. We're going for it this year. Looking to add a low-OBP power bat to add some thump to the lineup. Could package the pick with prospect(s).
  7. I'm 20-7 H2H against you in that league lol. Thanks for going with the formatting though, I watched a couple draft videos from last year to see exactly what Selig says. It's "First-Year Player Draft!" People are getting that wrong.
  8. Pretty weak blurb, GD.
  9. If Casey had a 6.43 ERA through his seven innings with the same peripherals I don't think you'd be singing the same tune. That's what I'm saying. Similarly, what Santos has done this year shouldn't sway you in either direction. He's gotten amazingly unlucky. 2011-13 Janssen is probably better than what Santos is though, I'll add that. If Janssen still is that guy than I give him the edge.
  10. You're overreacting to Janssen's 0.00 ERA this season. He hasn't actually been so spectacular. It's only a matter of time before he turns into a pumpkin. Santos has a 14.9% SwStr% this season and a career rate of 13.3%. That's going to make him more successful than Janssen over the long haul.
  11. Let him. CJ can't hold a candle to Santos (when both are healthy).
  12. My guys just aren't hitting for power... we're slugging .405 on the season. I'm not going to start dominating until that improves drastically.
  13. Pitch framing seems to be the one thing that stats and traditional guys agree on. Everyone loves Kratz.
  14. http://i.imgur.com/vwMin.gif
  15. I would give up Torontofan's entire farm for Tulo.
  16. Happ posted a 23.5 GB% lol One or two of those deep flies should have left the yard.
  17. Seven shutout innings for the HR/FB luck dragon (4.58 xFIP for Happ)!
  18. Good ole country hardball. Cespedes knew it was coming but got blown away.
  19. Eight Red Sox pitchers have recorded a strikeout (all the ones who've pitched). I wonder if that sets some sort of record.
  20. Farrell is way too quick to switch relievers. He's going to run out. Capuano for 24 pitchers? He's a career-long starter lol
