Yep. The Astros draft this year looks great though; Bregman, Tucker and Cameron are all high-quality bats and they didn't have to pass up any clearly superior talents.
It looks like the Cubs crushed the 2014 doing something similar. Kyle Schwarber was a discount pick but he's destroyed the minors and looks like a real MLB hitter right now. Great pick by Spanky in our draft last year.
And they got McCullers too because they saved some money on Correa. McCullers progressed a lot faster than expected and looks like a major league starter right now.
Attn Dinger: Jose Fernandez struck out ten batters in 4 2/3 innings in a rehab start yesterday.

It pollutes objectivity because your fan instincts take over and make you see stuff that isn't there. Watching the game from a fan perspective is how you get opinions like how Jose Reyes isn't a winner or a pitcher gives up hard contact. That's not to say it's bad to watch though, and I do. I especially like non-Jays games because I can observe the mechanics and aesthetics of the sport with a more neutral view.
BTS is right. The "advanced stats" crew on here watches an utter ton of games.
2010 was the first prospect class that I remember following in the minors. The Heyward, Strasburg, Stanton class. GD is only a little older now than I was then.
Seems like we're getting more extreme seasons than usual this year.
Remember when Goldy had a "slider speed bat?" He wasn't going to catch up to advanced pitching
And why are they talking about how Harvey's off to a slow start especially with command? He's been exactly the same amazing pitcher he was pre-surgery.
Neither of those guys apparently had TJ. Niemann had other issues, Kazmir just wore down.
Taylor Guerrieri, Ty Morrison, Grayson Garvin were the TJ guys. The major leaguers who went down in 2012-2013 had other issues.
They also had a bad stretch a couple years ago. Tommy John surgeries since start of 2006 (when Friedman rose to power):

So the Rays are sixth-best with 18, pretty good. The White Sox reputation is deserved... Don Cooper and Co. somehow keep them healthy and productive.
What's going on with Bogaerts? He's been a little better overall this year, but as a prospect he was supposed to have prodigious power and he just hasn't showed any as a major leaguer. Career 6.8% HR/FB, .109 xISO this year.
I'm with you on being skeptical of this stuff. Past injuries and clear poor mechanics are the only indicators I believe in, pending further evidence. Teams have used this type of technology before and it hasn't let to a revolution. Smart baseball people can't even agree on whether throwing more pitches and innings is good or bad for health.
No it isn't official. From the article:
"Toronto has yet to make any public comments about the agreement and an official announcement is not expected until Harris passes his physical."
