Bundy would probably be a top five pick if available; he appears to be back to form. I don't think it's a bad trade value-wise and it makes sense with your extra picks.
You're really tying yourself to Bundy! Interesting.
No, this is different from other transactions and on-field decisions. I am perfectly within my scope to offer original opinions on that stuff. I have seen every major leaguer play and can look up 97% of the existing information relevant to their future performance. The draft is different. We hardly have any information and have seen very few of these players in action.
The Blue Jays have the biggest scouting department and an analytics department that aggregates the information much better than the internet does with their inconsistent data. I don't know that we can take much of stance on their pick either way.
There are two definitions of 'protected' that get thrown around. The Blue Jays will get an extra pick next year if they fail to sign their sandwich pick.
How do you know that he has a great feel for hitting, good plate discipline, etc. though? It seems like you're regurgitating content from other internet scouting reports and mock drafts. And the people who wrote those think Scott Kingery would be an okay pick in the late 20s but not a steal. I'm wary of people who don't have new information yet offer dissenting opinions.
Lynn apparently could have kept pitching but he was near 100 pitches anyway so they took him out. I'd be cautiously optimistic although it's not a good sign long-term.
Right now I'm in position to cut Austin Wilson, Mason Williams and one of Wendell Rijo, Brandon Drury, Albert Almora. I'm open to pick upgrades involving any of my prospects.
