It would make sense, the lack of rotation in his core could be 100% due to a back tightness issue. When the core can't rotate, hitters are forced to speed up the arms and that's a timing disaster. 

The obvious next question is ... then why didn't they IL him and let him get healthy instead of running him out there every day at ... 70-75%?

He's better as a super utility guy moving forward who gets around 400 AB's per season. Even defensively, he doesn't look as sharp and has been awful in comparison to last season.
