Now I hope we can retain him on a reasonable extension to sure up our starting 5 for next season.  

Rest of the focus should be on 2 big bats + 1 reliever to replace Hoffman.

He has looked good in most of his starts recently and has a track record of being elite. 

You should typically bet on guys like this but lucky we dont have to make any decision right now.  He'll have a sufficient amount of starts to close out the season to assess properly.
