Hoffman induces 2 weak grounders, neither resulting in an out lol

RJ Barrett was a huge liability for the entire end of the game but then God bailed him out

He really wasn't just that 4th quarter. Just poor shot clock awareness that led to nothing from both him and Barnes.

Minnesota native

I am aware he is a MN native, so it's just for courtesy? To me it's non sense, tomorrow there may be a save situation and they could really need him.

Happy for the Raptors. The expectations was for them to be swept. Now forcing a Game 7. Very happy for them.

Also Varland in this game Is absolutely fine. You need to win. They are only up 4.

The trade of Louis Varland (and Ty France) from the Twins to the Blue Jays at the 2025 deadline is largely considered an "A-" to "A" grade move for Toronto. The Blue Jays acquired a cost-controlled, high-leverage reliever (under contract until 2031) who became a "stud" bullpen cornerstone with a 2.02 ERA and 98+ MPH fastball. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Key Takeaways:

Blue Jays Grade (A-/A+): Evaluated as one of Ross Atkins' best trades, filling a desperate need for a high-leverage bullpen arm, described in some analyses as a potential "steal".

Twins Grade (D/D+): Criticized as a poor move, with local reactions calling it a "fleecing" and a "terrible look" because they traded a young, controllable arm that was a local favorite for prospects (Alan Roden, Kendry Rojas).

Value: Varland, 27, transformed into a top-tier reliever with a 54.5% groundball rate and a 39.7% whiff rate on his revamped curveball.

Context: The deal was part of a major 2025 "fire sale" by the Twins. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7]

Note: Based on 2025-2026 data, this represents a highly favorable outcome for Toronto. [1]

The Cavs were the best matchup for the Raptors (the Raps would have gotten stomped by the Knicks or Celtics), but even I wasn't expecting 7 games. I thought 5, possibly 6 at best. I expect the Cavs to win at home, but neither side has a true clutch playoff performer (Harden specifically has a history of shrinking in Game 7's) so who knows.

As far as Varland, JS has always looked at a 4 run lead as a time to use the closer. Not sure why, but that's how he manages.

Omar's guaranteed win night.

So series tied up. Oka hitting bombs. Corbin settling in to be a competent fifth starter.  Pinango coming into his own.

BLUE JAYS WIN!!
