Between that stupid balk and the chasing a ground ball, it seemed that Ponce didn't get himself comfortable with the surface or his shoes.  Not good either way.

I don't think they are able to bring him back. He would have to be refused by the Red Sox and clear waivers to have a chance to come back.

We have an off-day on Friday, so you have to think a reliever comes up and we move to a 4 man rotation. The spot wouldn't be needed again until the 8th. If you make that a pen day, you could probably get by until the 18th which should be enough time to get Yesavage or Bieber back.

That might take 2-3 hours. I don't know how with pitch clock he still takes 5 minutes to deliver a pitch and its always a curve in the dirt.
