  1. 1. Who would you pick based on their projected contracts?

    • Bo [208M/8yrs - 26M/yr
    • Tucker [400M/11yrs - 36.4M/yr]

I guess you haven’t heard Murakami’s whiff rate on fastballs over 93 lol

I'm a big believer in sample sizes.  15 PA is not a sample size.  Murakami could be the best free agent signing this off season.   Murakami had a lower K rate, higher BB rate and higher home run per plate appearance than Ohtani did in his time in Japan.

Anyone with plate discipline who can hit it 117 MPH off the bat is a player of interest for me.

I tend to think Okamoto is a better fit for the the Blue Jays right now. I don't think he has the same offensive upside as Okomoto who possesses nearly top of the scale raw power but I feel Okamoto presents a much higher floor and is far less likely to bust given the far superior contact ability.

Murakami has way more raw power than Okomoto.

Murkami's avg exit velocity last year was 96.5 mph.  That would have ranked him 1st in the MLB.  HIs max exit velo was 116.5 mph. That would have tied him with Barger for 17th.  He has a career K rate of 25.1% but a 15.9% career walk rate.  He's 25 years old.  Like the Pirates have a shot at him.  If we can get him for 16 to 18 mil AAV, it's worth the gamble.

I had a brain fart there, I'll go ahead and correct the post so that it makes sense.

The problem with him isn't so much the problem with velo. Its that pretty much everyone thinks he will either not play third at even a fringe average level, and we can't sign another first baseman on big money.

Agreed, he's not a fit on this team at all.

I've got draft pick 1-1 in 3 Dynasty leagues, I'm chasing that upside. 🤪

His issues that don't make him a fit here in Toronto are defensively, dude's a butcher at 3rd.

He can be my full time DH a year from now.  The way they are talking on mlb radio 12 to 15 mil a year.  That's just too much of a deal to pass up on.

13 votes for Tucker at 400M, y'all huffing glue, man. 🥴

Yeah it's a huge number for Tucker.  If the Jays land Bo with 7/210 I wouldn't complain I guess. He would be entering his last year of that contract at age 34/35 so not the end of the world for the Jays.

Some in this board were predicting that Bo would garner a bigger payday than Tucker before the off-season. 😂

Probably the same people who thought the Jays had a chance to land Shitani

Well, I honestly thought it was possible, I'd always knew LAD had a massive logistic upper-hand, Jays did what they could. The Unicorn shouldn't be called a name for his given right. We're watching baseball history/lore even, with this legend. An absolute Joy to watch. I haven't ever seen anything like this guy in my 50 year+ life. It's rainbows fountains and a Unicorn to me, and for that I'm grateful, and to think he almost played on my favourite hometown team.
