Well, fellas, I logged off for a while after the game. But I do want to say, what a season it was. Especially with the lower expectations, I never imagined we'd have a reason to care on November 1st. I'm glad I found this forum this year. And thank you for (mostly) welcoming me with open arms. Its been a blast. I can't wait for next year.

He's a free agent now. We, hopefully, never have to see him again.

He's a FA but the Jays FO is the only one that values him this highly. I think he's back as a utility player next season. I truly hope I'm wrong on that. Since Leo Jimenez is out of options, hopefully they just stick him in that role. I legit never want to see IKF wear this uniform ever again. Not as long as JS is managing.

My friend was devastated by the 1 yard line seahawks loss in the sb. Now I know how he feels.

For the first 10 years of my Fandom I never had to worry about that because the jays never made the playoffs. I guess it's just part of it when you root for a competitive team there will devastating losses. There probably will be more disappointment in the future before hopefully glory. Even the Dodgers went through years of playoff losses.

IKF with basically no secondary lead off third base.  How can veteran player be so out of it?

Yeah this is absolutely unacceptable. F*** his useless ass. Might've won G3 as well if he wasn't an automatic out 90% of the time.

"You're only as good as your weakest link" and IKF is not an acceptable weakest link for a World Series roster. Neither is Ty France for that matter.

Yep, that IKF brain fart likely cost the team a ring. To be fair though, the 3rd base coach may have told him to stay close the bag to avoid a throw down to third to pick him off (or he may have been antsy having seen Barger get picked off in Game 6). Who knows. Still, based on how far away the fielder was, he could've been at least another couple feet up.

You could predict this too, along with Hoffman giving up a home run at precisely the wrong time.

The post game interviews are gut wrenching.

I don't know how you can subject yourself to that. I immediately put on a movie

I feel like watching all the Jays players post-game is helping me emotionally deal with this. Not watching any other media coverage though; that would be too painful for me.

I have no issues piling on IKF, he's horrendous, but Jeff Hoffman gave up a home run to Miguel Rojas. Not Ohtani, or Freeman, or Smith, or Betts, or Teo, or anyone else. Miguel f'n Rojas. This one is on Hoffman. There's a lot of luck involved in baseball, it's a game of inches, but giving up a HR to a damn scrub in the 9th inning of Game 7 when you're 2 outs away is the damn reason you lost.

Those post game interviews are stupid, just leave them alone and just do the post game interviews with the winning team

Have to disagree with you there. I want to hear from the guys we've lived and died with for this whole magical season and this magical run. The interviews are for our fan base to mourn along with our guys.

I live & die with this team. Feel free to hop off the bandwagon.

The main issue is that I do not know how the players could go through with it without crying, it is gut wrenching, that is why they should do interviews with the winning team

For this to be rewarded is f*cking infuriating man.

To add to this, 1966 was near the peak of the "pitchers era", which of course came to a head in 1968. Jays outscored the Dodgers by 9 runs and almost certainly had a much higher xBA over the course of the series and just couldn't miss a glove. Add on some costly base-running errors and a badly managed 3rd game and... that just sucks.

After being great all playoffs, building trust, he just reverts to his usual ********.

Honestly, it's cathartic. You're not alone, you're feeling the pain right along with your guys. It will help you to heal faster than burying your head in the sand but I understand if you find it too painful. People process trauma and disappointment and heartbreak in different ways. I'm just glad the players showed how much this means to them behind closed doors. Makes me like them even more and makes me want to support them even harder next year.
