Because this lines him up for that day. But then again you are exposing him to the Red Sox just days before they might see him again. Or do they feel better with Lauer to make that start. Could you imagine if Berrios or Lauer is our game one playoffs starter? Lol

Bieber going tomorrow would have lined him up to be the Game 1 starter for a WC round if it got to that. Now he's pitching Game 2 at the earliest, Yesavage Game 3 at the earliest, and Gausman may not even be available if he has to pitch Sunday. Insane how quickly this season turned upside down.
