The magic number needs to move off five, please.

Down to 3 and the lead up to 3 today would ease a lot of minds.  The boys are squeezing the bats pretty tight the last 4 games.  It's time to loosen up.  Maybe they should have a shot of that champagne BEFORE the game.🤔

Here’s a little anecdote for everyone, only because i vaguely remember so i looked it up.

On Sept.27 2023, the Texas Rangers had 91% chance to win the division via fangraphs projections. With 4 games remaining, they went 1-3 and lost the division, barely sneaking in as the last wildcard. They went on to win the WS that year.

Baseball is crazy, so buckle up because this next week will be stressful as hell. But in the end, anything can happen.

Hopefully the offense decides to show up today. Been pretty humiliating effort. Drop 4 straight games with the division in the drivers seat. Now in absolute dog fight.

Not exactly a dog fight when we’re still 3 games up with the tie-breaker. But they need to play better.

We need at least 3 more wins, 4 would be preferable. Easily doable, just need to play within themselves.

Not sure if I feel better or worse after reading that....... Lol!!  I always like a happy ending though. :)

To be fair they were within a foot or two of lead changing home runs two of these 4 games. The only silver lining is that the pitching staff has been performing admirably in September which was the biggest concern heading into the playoffs.

All that matters is how you finish!

Who gives a fkkkk. They need to stop pushing this narrative. We need to win the division

Pushing what narrative? The Blue Jays need to clinch a playoff spot first before worrying about the division. If they fail to clinch the division it's not like it's game over as they can still advance through the wild card round.

There’s pretty much 0 chance they don’t clinch a playoff spot, so its stupid to count down a clinch. Especially when we are in a great spot to still win the division.

idk just seems stupid to me

I hope they win today's game and clinch a playoff spot. I think the team is a little too tightly wound at the moment and a champagne celebration could be just the thing to loosen them up a bit for the final home stand.

Yeah fair. Just laying out all the clinch scenarios seems stupid to me. Win today and clinch, simple as that. Then win a few more.

Shouldn’t be sitting cheering for a Detroit loss when our own team is on a 4 game losing streak.

Agree so much

There is almost 100% chance they make the post season

DIVISION OR BUST

Like it they lose today but "clinch a playoff spot" because of other teams losses I am not the least bit happy about it. Especially if the Yankees win their game.

Win some fn games right now

Don't mess with his narrative that Jonn is the hardest worker in the room and if only the Jays would try harder like him they would be 162-0.

*Checks notes*. I believe Jonn is not currently playing in the major leagues.

Honestly so lucky that the last 2 series are at home this year.

Imagine if they had to go on a big road trip to end the year… team would be toast lol

If they were playing at home instead of on the road they may have enjoyed a winning streak prior to heading on the road trip.

Right, time to end this slump, offense clearly has to wake up again. We’ve generally had the pitching (Scherzer start aside) so let’s score some runs for our 22yo rookie!

Thinking this team is holding a 3 game lead in this state?

Thinking the Yankees will continue to play like the best team in the league?

Because both things need to happen for us to lose the division
