Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted June 25, 2025 Posted June 25, 2025 Scherzer is back in an MLB rotation!
Masterbather Verified Member Posted June 25, 2025 Posted June 25, 2025 Been a long time coming. I'm excited to see Max. Not expecting the ace he used to be obviously but I think he can still be very important. It may be a lot to expect that Max will be healthy and reasonably effective from here until the end of the season, but we can hope. The good news is that his innings will naturally be limited given the time he's missed and hopefully he can stay fresh. I'm sure they'll give him an extra day or two wherever the schedule permits. We've also managed to keep ourselves in a competitive position in the standings without him. But now we really need him, our rotation and bullpen both need him. Game on.

On a back-to-back he might not even do two innings. I don't think we have a long guy today. It'll be patchwork if a Max doesn't last. Let's just hope that Max gives us innings.
Nightowl Verified Member Posted June 25, 2025 Posted June 25, 2025 Feeling ridiculously excited about this. Hoping desperately it goes ok, not just from the point of the team doing well but because you don't want to see a legend fall flat.
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2025 Posted June 25, 2025 Kirk should have continued with his throw, Manzardo stepped on the plate after his swing
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2025 Posted June 25, 2025 Cleveland GM has to be thrilled he was able to shed that Gimenez contract.
HomeRunHomer Verified Member Posted June 25, 2025 Posted June 25, 2025 25 pitch first inning isn't ideal.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2025 Posted June 25, 2025 Max looks good. Just got hit by the most underpaid player in the sport.

hanton Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2025 Posted June 25, 2025 wayda work the opposing pitcher and give your starter a rest
Masterbather Verified Member Posted June 25, 2025 Posted June 25, 2025 Very nice inning. Back on track.

I'm pretty sure Scherzer is the long man at this point by default, and they're just hoping he can turn back into a SP, while he starts games. I know that might not make sense, but ... i think you understand what Im getting at.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2025 Posted June 25, 2025 More of those swings Vlad. Good pitcher, took some tough pitches and punished a mistake pitch. John_Havok, HomeRunHomer and Spanky__99 3
