Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2025 Posted May 17, 2025 So Santander's hitting in the DH spot for the pitcher, makes sense.

HomeRunHomer Verified Member Posted May 17, 2025 Posted May 17, 2025 Walking a hurting Santander who is swinging an ice cold bat is a choice. And Clement gets a hit. Blue Jays win!
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2025 Posted May 17, 2025 Way to go Ernie... ya beautiful man... great W. polar bear 1
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2025 Posted May 17, 2025 Ernie you sweet bastard Spanky99 and Waylanderz 2
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2025 Posted May 17, 2025 That’s a big hit for Ernie. Jays needed this. Bullpen was so good.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2025 Posted May 17, 2025 Yeah that was a reputation walk. They were probably better off pitching to Tony given how bad he’s been. Good piece of hitting by Clement. Frustrating game in general, but very typical 2023-25 game for this team. At least they got the W. G-Snarls and Stangstag 2
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2025 Posted May 17, 2025 Meh, I thought the game was great. Ernie stepped up bigly!
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 17, 2025 Posted May 17, 2025 Pitching gameplan and execution were incredible. Good job, John Schneider. Walking the hurt and struggling .187 hitter to pitch to the .261 hitter that puts everything in play, when a single loses the game for you, was a dumb tactic. G-Snarls, Terminator and Spanky99 3

Hinch went by Santander's track record and thought let's pitch to Clement. He hasn't been watching Jays game all season to come to a determination that Santander' has been hot garbage for 40 games. If Taters had hit a double off the right center field wall he would be feeling the heat for letting him hit. You can't win in this situation.

Hasn't their pitcher allowed like a 1.100 OPS against left-handed hitters this year? Probably had more to do with it. M.E. 1
