jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 I know the Rays sucked this year but you get the feeling they will be serious contenders in the AL East next season.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2024 Author Posted September 22, 2024 Aranda has killed the Jays this weekend.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2024 Author Posted September 22, 2024 lol... that was bad.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 With a couple key additions so should the Blue Jays. Sure, but the Jays will have to spend some money in order to make key additions. Rays could be dangerous next season without making any big money additions. Their rotation of Bradley, Littell, Pepiot, and Baz is young, cheap and could take the next step forward. Plus they get Shane McClanahan likely back. They have some intriguing BP pieces as well. As for their lineup, they lack a true stud, but maybe Caminero breaks out big, and they have a bunch of solid pieces all around. They don't have to spend $50-$60M in order to contend.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 Brandon Lowe seems to KILL us. Dong off Swanson. Thankfully, we got the extra years of control of him in that deal for Teo. Ladies and Gentlemen...your 2017 Jays in 2024. Can't wait for this season to come to an end and watch real teams in the playoffs. Also, Shatkins can be blasted off into the sun anytime.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2024 Author Posted September 22, 2024 Have a day Ernie... Have a day, Vlad!

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 Extend him this off season and spread out the $ His arb 3 alone will be ~ 30MM Arb4, but who's counting really?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 Arb4, but who's counting really? Right. He was a Super 2. Regardless, last arb year will be very expensive.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2024 Posted September 23, 2024 Right. He was a Super 2. Regardless, last arb year will be very expensive. Yup. Probably gonna get some mvp votes too which will another argument in his favour. It's fine though, a guy like him should be making 30 million per year in the economics of today's MLB
