Ray Verified Member Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 Leo Jimenez might be the most intriguing young player to me. He’s crushed 3 homers all of which had high end exit velo. Couple that with his contact percentage and strong defense at short and it becomes apparent why the org has coveted him for so long. Offensively reminds of a potential Yandy Diaz
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2024 Author Posted August 21, 2024 I love guys like Loperfido, Schneider and Wagner, but they better not be anywhere near the starting lineup in 2025 if this team plans to compete. As bench/depth guys, definitely love having them around. The only Buffalo guys I would want in the starting lineup next season is Horwitz at 2B and possibly Clement at 3B. Horwitz definitely I mean the way he hangs in there vs lefties is impressive. Agree on Ernie he has limitations in that he swings at everything and never walks. Barger, Loperfido, Schneider 4A Wagner sample size is too small but I think he will end up like the rest 4A
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 It's only 20 AB's. We need to temper expectations here please. When a player or pitcher on the Jays suck, the excuse is that it's still early and that its too small of a sample size. When a player over 20 AB's or a pitcher after 3 starts perform very well, they're already crowned at locks at a position or mid-rotation starters for 2025. When I say stick, I mean sticking to the 26 man and not necessarily a starting role. He commands the strike zone well enough where he mostly swings at hittable pitches. His defense so far at second seems fine, probably better than Horwitz tbh.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 Jays brought the sticks last night, just finishing up the game, holy dingers Batman! GG and win.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 How the f*** is Wagner not in the line up vs a right handed starter? They want to have a look at Jimenez at 2nd base according to Schneider.
